How to understand "stealing pears for three points, borrowing plum blossoms for nothing"

1, analysis

"Stealing pears is white, and borrowing plum blossoms is a soul." Bai Haitang is white, loyal and aloof, while Lin Daiyu is noble and aloof. The word "steal" means as white as pear and as charming as plum blossom. But it's ingenious and chic. Lu Meipo's poem "Xue Mei" in the Song Dynasty: "Mei Xu Xun is white, and the snow loses a piece of plum fragrance." Cao Yin, the founder of Xueqin, wrote a poem "The cardamom is lightly exposed, and the lotus is slightly fragrant". Perhaps this couplet can be used for reference.

Half-rolled curtains cover the door, and the ice is ground into earth jade as a basin.

Steal a pear for three cents and borrow a plum blossom for a soul.

The moon cave fairy sews robes, and the woman who always wipes crow marks in my heart in autumn.

Who is shy and silent? I'm tired of leaning against the west wind at night.

3. Overall appreciation

Ode to Bai Hai Tang is a poem written by sisters when the Grand View Garden Poetry Club opened in a Dream of Red Mansions. With Heng, Princess Xiaoxiang, Childe and Old Friend as the main poets. His poems reveal the fate of the characters in the book, and further portray several main characters in A Dream of Red Mansions to the fullest. Prepare for the following articles and lay a good foundation. The greatest feature of this poem by Daiyu is novelty and chic. The flowerpot, the white sea pond flower and the "autumn is always in my heart" in the poem are all selfies. The images of chic, smart, noble and sad in the poem are the embodiment of Lin Daiyu's ideological character. Like Baochai's Bai Haitang's poems, they all express themselves in poems, but the truth of Daiyu and Baochai's affectation show completely different characteristics.
