Poems on the West Lake (Bai Juyi wrote seven poems praising the West Lake)

Guide reading

As the saying goes, "There is heaven above and Suzhou and Hangzhou below", it can be seen that Suzhou and Hangzhou have both a resounding reputation and fairyland-like beauty, which has to be thanked by the warm praise of the poets in the Tang Dynasty.

In the early Tang and Song Dynasties, Wen Zhi wrote in Lingyin Temple that "the building looks at the sea and the sky, and the door faces the Zhejiang tide". The poet stood upstairs looking at the magnificent sunrise, and the temple gate was facing the Qiantang River tide. Watch the sunrise and the river tide, kill two birds with one stone. As soon as this poem came out, the reputation and popularity of Lingyin Temple doubled.

Meng Haoran in the prosperous Tang Dynasty sighed domineering in "Climbing the Barrier Building with Yan Qiantang to Watch the Tide": "The stormy waves come like snow, and a cold life." Facing the turbulent qiantang bore, it's like rolling up a thousand piles of snow, which makes the tide watchers feel chilly. This makes the West Lake attract a large number of fans.

Among many literati, if you find one person to speak for the West Lake, it is Bai Juyi.

I. Lotte and the West Lake

Bai Juyi was born and died in 772-846 AD, from Xinzheng, Henan, and Taiyuan, Shanxi. The great realistic poet in Tang Dynasty, together with Yuan Zhen, who ascended the throne at the same time, advocated the new Yuefu movement, and was called "Bai Yuan" and "Bai Liu" in the world together with Liu Yuxi. Known as the "magic poet". Official to Hanlin bachelor, Zuo Zan doctor.

In 822 AD, Bai Juyi was appointed as the secretariat of Hangzhou. During his tenure, he made great achievements in building the West Lake embankment and dredging six wells, so his love for the West Lake was deep and persistent. Therefore, he wrote a lot of poems about the West Lake, such as Leaving the West Lake, Drinking on the Lake at Night, and Returning to the Lake Pavilion at Night.

Today, I will share with you Bai Juyi's most famous poem "Spring Tour in Qiantang River" praising the West Lake.

Second, a detailed interpretation of Spring Tour in Qiantang River.

Hangzhou was called Qiantang in ancient times and West Lake was called Qiantang River in ancient times, so Qiantang Lake is the West Lake. Located in the west of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China, surrounded by mountains on three sides, it is a scenic tourist attraction, bypassing15km. Let's enjoy Spring Tour of Qiantang River.

The poem says:

From the north side of Gushan Temple to the west side of Jiating, the lake is just level with the embankment, with low clouds and waves on the lake.

Several early orioles raced to the sunny tree, and their new swallows were carrying mud in their nests.

Colorful spring flowers will gradually fascinate people's eyes, and shallow spring grass can barely cover the horseshoe.

I love the beauty on the east bank of the West Lake, and I can't get enough of it, especially the white sand embankment under the green poplar.

This poem was written by Bai Juyi when he was the secretariat of Hangzhou in 824 AD.

When you mention the West Lake, you will naturally think of Su Shi, a great writer in the Song Dynasty, who said, "If you want to compare the West Lake with the West Lake, light makeup and heavy makeup are always appropriate." After reading this poem by Bai Letian, the charming smiling face of Xi Zi seems to be just around the corner. Describing nature with Lotte's wonderful pen, the West Lake looks more beautiful, more beautiful and more charming.

The first couplet was written in a beautiful spring. Bai Juyi went to Xizi Lake for an outing, but he loved the direction of the "Gushan Temple in the Northwest of Jiating" in Nuoda West Lake. "Gushan", the center of the West Lake, is not connected with other mountains, so it is called Gushan. "Jia Ting" is also called Jia Gongting. In this way, the horseshoe flew away to the north of Gushan Temple and the west of Jiating.

Walking, Bai Juyi on horseback looked around and saw an open picture of "the water is flat at the beginning and the cloud feet are low". "Cloud foot" refers to the cloud gas close to the ground, which is more common when it is going to rain or just stops. At the beginning of the lake, the water surface is just level with the lake, and the floating clouds are very low and connected with the water surface.

Zhuan Xu's "A few early warblers fight for warm trees, whose new swallow pecks at spring mud" refers to several places. "Warm trees" refer to sunny trees. "Early Warbler" refers to an oriole who comes early in early spring. In early spring, orioles scrambled to fly to the sunny branches, bathed in spring and showed their loud voice.

"Xinyan" is a swallow that just flew back from the south.

Looking down at the lake, I don't know who flew back from the south first. Swallows are holding spring soil to build their nests.

According to the necklaces, not only birds but also flowers and plants are not idle. "The flowers are getting more and more attractive, but the shallow grass has no horseshoe." "Miscellaneous flowers" refers to the profusion of flowers. "Charming eyes" are dazzling.

The colorful flowers on the shore gradually fascinated people's eyes, and those shallow grasses just drowned the tourists' hooves.

Wei Lian wrote that with so many beautiful scenery, Bai Juyi's favorite is "going to the lake in the absence of east, white sand embankment under the shadow of green poplar" and "traveling far away". "Baishadi" refers to the northeast of Gushan. This shows that the natural scenery is beautiful, and the poet's favorite is the east of the West Lake and the white sand embankment in the green shade of Qingyang, which makes the poet's interest linger and gives readers endless enjoyment of beauty.

label

This poem is short and pithy, and its language is simple, fresh and natural. Starting from the "lonely mountain" and "Jiating", we started a journey to heaven with beautiful scenery, singing and dancing, and flowers and plants growing.

Bai Juyi wrote not only a strong sense of spring, but also a strong feeling for the beauty of nature with a fresh and lively poetic style, and pinned his feelings on the scenery. Between the lines of the poem, he reveals joy, relaxed mood and delicate and fresh feelings about the spring scenery of the West Lake.

The so-called "interesting image, someone is there"; "Shape moves with things, everywhere", Wang Ruoxu comments on Lotte's poems, see "Su Nan's Poems".
