Gu Cheng has a poem, or just a sentence in his article. There is a sentence that roughly means "the silent boy, the dancing girl"

I think the original text should be the sentence here: "I like girls who are full of whimsical thoughts and jumping up and down, and I also like boys who are quiet and natural."

A beautiful piece of writing.

Poem Talk (3) Written by Gu Cheng

My poems are my children.

As soon as they are born, they exist without me.

They have their own destiny.

They went to many places I didn’t know, to various cities, schools, work sheds and books, to people’s pain and dreams, to Paris, Northern Europe, the South Pacific, America...

I love them, inextricably, but I do not condone them.

I like girls who are full of whims and bouncing around, and boys who are quiet and natural. I like strong ones and I also like sick ones; as long as they are honest.

I hate children who lie, those who put on airs and want to be in the limelight, those who like to dress up, go to shopping malls, and curl their hair; not to mention the little ones who are willing to put a price on their heart and sell themselves for glory.

I went, and they will continue to live, dance under the moonlight, fall in love, get married, and have many descendants.

I believe that the child I love and love will live forever...
