looking at the moon and thinking of one far away (Don Zhang Jiuling)
the moon, grown full now over the sea, Tianya * * * At this time.
brings to separated hearts, the long thoughtfulness of night.
it is no darker though I blow out my candle, it is no warmer though I put on my coat.
so I leave my message with the moon, and turn to my bed, hoping for dreams.
Comment: Zhang Jiuling was a famous figure in the Tang Dynasty. He was ostracized by treacherous court officials and relegated to Jingzhou. He wrote this poem on the Mid-Autumn Festival night when he missed the distance. The poetic mood is broad and vigorous, but it is also sincere, especially the first two sentences have long been famous.
Second, the loneliest Mid-Autumn Festival poem-
Looking at the Moon on Fifteen Nights (Don Wang Jian)
In the atrium, there is a crow in Bai Shu, and there is a silent and wet osmanthus in Coody Leng.
I don't know whose house Qiu Si will fall into tonight.
Comments: This poem first describes the Mid-Autumn Moonlight, and then describes the full moon and people, showing a lonely, deserted and quiet picture of the Mid-Autumn Night. Start with the scenery, end with lyricism, imagine the beauty and charm.
Third, the most frontier Mid-Autumn Festival poem-
Midnight Wu Ge Qiu Ge (Don Li Bai)
a slip of the moon hangs over the capital, ten thousand washing-mallets are pounding.
and the autumn wind is blowing my heart, for ever and ever toward the Jade Pass.
oh, when will the Tartar troops be conquered, and my husband come back from the long campaign!.
Comments: Midnight Wu Ge has four songs: Haruka, Xia Song, Qiu Ge and Winter Song. This song, Qiu Ge, is about the wife of a recruiter and her husband ("lover") who goes on an expedition to the frontier in autumn night. Although love is not written directly, every word is permeated with sincere affection. There are so many works by Li Bai describing the moon: "When I was young, I didn't know the moon, so I called it a white jade plate", "till, raising my cup, I asked the bright moon, to bring me my shadow and make us three", "the bright moon lifts from the Mountain of Heaven, in an infinite haze of cloud and sea", "lifting myself to look, I found that it was moonlight, sinking back again, I thought suddenly of home", "Today's people don't see the ancient moon, but this month once shone on the ancients" and so on. Of course, most of them are not about the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Fourth, the most affectionate Mid-Autumn Festival poem-
Moonlit Night (Tang Du Fu)
far off in Fuzhou she is watching the moonlight, watching it alone from the window of her chamber.
for our boy and girl, poor little babes, are too young to know where the Capital is.
her cloudy hair is sweet with mist, her jade-white shoulder is cold in the moon.
when shall we lie again on our screen, watching this bright light with no more tears?.
comment: I am obviously a relative in Chang 'an, looking at the moon and thinking of Fuzhou (now Fuxian County, Shaanxi Province). However, the poem thinks from the opposite side, and only writes that his wife "watches the moon in Zhangzhou alone" and "remembers Chang 'an". This way of thinking from the other side shows the sincere feelings of the family and is often used for reference by future generations.
fifth, the coldest Mid-Autumn Festival poem-
"Looking at the Moon at the Pavilion on the Night of August 15th" (Tang Juyi)
Last year, on the night of August 15th, it was beside the apricot garden by Qujiang Pool.
On the night of August 15th this year, in front of Songpu Shatou Water Museum.
where is Wangxiang in the northwest? See the full moon in the southeast.
yesterday, when the wind blew, no one would attend. Tonight, it's as clear as usual.
Comments: The moon is still the moon of the past, but the place is not the place of previous years. Naturally, people around me are no longer the people of previous years. Being demoted to Songpu (pénpǔ incarnation, now Jiujiang, Jiangxi), things have changed, my hometown has disappeared, and I am alone. Poetry is extremely cold, and sorrow is invisible.
Sixth, the most sentimental Mid-Autumn Festival poem-
Mid-Autumn Moon (Song Su Shi)
The twilight clouds are all over the place, and the silver man turns to the jade plate silently.
This night is not good in my life, so where can I see the bright moon next year?
Comments: Author Su Shi and his younger brother Su Zhe (Zi Zi You) reunited after a long separation, enjoying the Mid-Autumn Festival. Such a pleasure reminds the author of the sadness and emotion of breaking up soon after the reunion. The poetic realm is lofty, the language is beautiful and meaningful.
