Mainly engaged in northwest minority folk literature research, Uygur folk culture research, comparative study of Chinese and Uygur cultures. He has published more than a dozen academic papers, such as The Influence of Nawayi's Five Volumes, An Analysis of Uighur Buddhist Poetry, and Accelerating Modern Distance Education for Northwest Minorities. Co-author of Comparison of Chinese and Uygur Folk Literature, editor-in-chief of China Modern Literature Reader and editor-in-chief of China Modern Literature textbook.
In 2005, he presided over a project funded by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission. In 2008, he presided over the completion of a project of Gansu Provincial Department of Education. Since 2008, he has participated in the project "Research on Western Poetry in Tang and Song Dynasties".
