Basic situation of Haiwei Town

Haiwei Town is located in the northwest of Changjiang Li Autonomous County, bordering October Tian Town in the east, Wulie Town and Changhua Town in the south, Beibu Gulf in the west and Haitou Town in Danzhou City across the bamboo Bijiang River in the north, with a total administrative area of 196.7 square kilometers and 50 kilometers away from the county seat. It is an important fishing town, an important industrial town, an important agricultural town, a new urbanization town and a tourist construction site in Changjiang County. 1957, Haiwei Township was established and later changed to commune. 1983 was divided into districts, and Haiwei Town was established in 1987. 1997, population 16000, which governs eight village committees in Baisha, Jin Dong, Sandland, Shayutang, Haiwei, Hainong, Dawu and Daxian. In 2002, Nanluo Town and Haiwei Town merged into Haiwei Town. The total cultivated land area is 36,000 mu.
