Cao Sanjia's Contributions to Literary History and Their Differences in Poetic Styles

Three Cao's contributions in the history of literature and differences in poetic style are as follows:

1, Cao Cao's achievements in literature are manifested in his constructive role in Jian 'an literature. Jian 'an literature can flourish under the background of long-term war and social fragmentation, which is inseparable from his attention and promotion.

2. Cao Pi, the actual leader of Ye Group, played a key role in the spiritual structure of Jian 'an literature, and the resulting "Jian 'an style" had a far-reaching impact on later literature: Cao Pi ordered Liu Shao, Wang Xiang and others to compile the first kind of books in China, which was the first time for official institutions to compile such books; Dian Lun Wen initiated the atmosphere of literary criticism and was the originator of China's literary criticism. Ge Yanxing is the first complete seven-character poem in the history of China literature, which has a great influence on the creation of seven-character poems in later generations.

3. Cao Zhi's poems not only embody the elegance of The Book of Songs, but also contain the profundity and wonder of The Songs of the South. It not only inherits the realistic brushwork of the Han Yuefu, but also retains the sentimental sentiment of nineteen ancient poems. Cao Zhi's poetry has its own distinctive and unique style, which has completed the transformation from Yuefu folk songs to literati poems.

"Three Caos" refers to Cao Cao, the representative writer of Jian 'an literature, and his sons Cao Pi and Cao Zhi. Their works had a great influence on the literary world at that time, so later generations were collectively called "Three Caos".

Cao Cao was an outstanding writer in Jian 'an period, a pioneer in creating a new situation of Jian 'an literature, and created a new atmosphere of Jian 'an literature, with excellent prose and style.

Cao Pi is good at poetry, prose and ci fu. His famous works include Yan Gexing and A Book with Wu Zhi. Among them, Yan Geling used seven words and rhymed every sentence, which played an important role in the development history of China's seven-word poems.

Cao Zhi was the first writer to write a five-character poem vigorously. He pushed the development of literati's five-character poems to an unprecedented peak, marking the complete maturity of literati's five-character poems. Zhong Rong called him "a man of great strength, elegant, resentful and cultured". His prose and ci fu also show high ideological and artistic quality, and the famous "Luo Shen Fu" is beautiful. Letters to Wu Ji and Yang Dezu are two famous prose works.
