Lu Su persuaded Sun Quan to marry Liu Bei, * * * resisted Cao Cao and personally went to Xiakou (now Hankou, Hubei) to meet Liu Bei. So Sun and Liu formed an alliance, and Battle of Red Cliffs defeated Cao Cao. After Zhou Yu's death, Lu Su paid homage to a captain of Fenwu, who led the troops for Zhou Yu, and later to the prefect of Hanchang, the partial general and the general Hengjiang. He also competed with Guan Yu, the general of Liu Bei, for Jingzhou, and met with Guan Yu, accusing Liu Bei of treachery, refusing to pay back Jingzhou, and sticking to his righteousness, and finally sharing Jingzhou with Liu Bei.
