In my opinion, Transtr?m is a pure poet. The so-called "pure" means, first, that he basically only wrote poetry and did not write in other literary styles. Second, he wrote all short poems, no long poems, and even very few composed poems. Third, his creative output is extremely small. As of 2000, when he was 70 years old, he had written 163 poems in one day. He was only 23 years old when he published his first collection of poems. Judging from Transtr?m's entire creative history, he is a poet with a very high starting point. It may not be said that he has never been able to surpass his debut, but "Seventeen Poems" can definitely be regarded as his masterpiece. His later works actually expanded and decomposed this collection of poems. In other words, "Seventeen Poems" has determined the basic style of Transtr?m's poetry, which can also be regarded as a reflection of the purity of his poetry. Of course, what best reflects the purity of his poetry is that he was a poet who wrote only short poems. As if by coincidence, Szymborska, the winner of the 1996 Nobel Prize for Literature, was also a poet who won the prize for a small number of short poems. The achievements of these two poets prove that perhaps short poetry is the authentic form of poetry, because it achieves the combination of the most concise words and the most powerful power.
