Appreciation of the original text and translation of Xin Qiji's "Shui Diao Ge Tou: Traveling with Uncle Ma to Yuebo Tower"

Shui Tiao Ge Tou·Visiting Yuebo Tower with Uncle Ma. Original text:

The guest will not be here for a long time, and the good scenery will be left for you. The west building is dedicated to chanting and admiring, so why bother asking for more information. Awakening the bright moon one day, it shines on me full of ice and snow, and the mighty rivers flow. The whale's drink has not yet swallowed the sea, but the sword energy has already spread. Wild light floating. The sky is vastly different and the things are secluded. Zhongzhou is full of regrets, I don’t know how many people are worried tonight. Who would think that a hero is old? If he doesn't realize that his fame and fame are small, his decision-making process still takes a long time. It's a waste of time to talk about this, and I'll hold my head in the future. Notes on Shui Tiao Ge Tou·Visiting Yuebo Tower with Ma Shudu

Emperor Xi

1. Ma Shudu was a friend of Jiaxuan, his life is unknown. During the Song Dynasty, there were two wave towers, one in Huangzhou, now Huanggang, Hubei, and the other in Jiahe, now Jianyang, Fujian. I don’t know where the poet traveled. Climbing up the stairs on an autumn night to admire the moon makes me feel great. Let’s start with a four-sentence title: the scenery is reserved for people, and people are intoxicated by the scenery. Evoking the bright moon, reflecting the ice and snow in your heart; the whale drinking and swallowing the sea, it is so heroic. "Zhongzhou" has two sentences, one main theme, and the thoughts range from strong to sad. After finishing the shoot, I hold my head up the next day, echoing the "Whale Drinking" above. However, after some twists and turns, the situation has become completely different. There is a sharp contrast between heroism and sorrow. 2 Kezi and Jun both refer to my friend Ma Shudu. 3. The two sentences "West Tower" mean that one can sing and enjoy the wind and moon with one heart, and the time will come sooner or later. West Tower refers to Yuebo Tower. Be intentional and attentive. Recite poems and enjoy the scenery. It is an ancient nighttime timing tool, that is, a sign. This refers to time. 4 The three words "Awakening" are as follows: The bright moon shines brightly, illuminating our liver and gallbladder as pure as ice and snow, and our vast mind as if hundreds of rivers are rushing through it. In the early years of the Southern Song Dynasty, the patriotic poet Zhang Xiaoxiang recited Nujiao's poem, "I should remember the mountains and seas for many years, and the lonely light shines on myself, and my liver and gallbladder are all ice and snow." 5 The two sentences "Whale Drinking" say that the pleasure of drinking has not been exhausted, but the sword energy has already spread across the autumn sky. A whale drinks like a long whale swallowing the sea. Du Fu drank in the Eight Immortals' Song, "Drink like a long whale sucking in hundreds of rivers." Sword energy refers to the light of the sword. The ancients said that the sword can emit light in the middle of the night and soar into the sky. See Note 3 of Qianshuilongyin "Raising its head to the floating clouds in the northwest". This metaphor represents the heroic spirit of establishing a nation. 6 "Wild Light" Three sentences: The moonlight is floating on the earth, the sky is high and the scenery is quiet. Tianyu sky. Far and far away. Wuhua generally refers to beautiful scenery. 7 The two sentences "Zhongzhou" refer to the fall of the Central Plains. Tonight, I don't know how many patriots are swallowing their sorrow and drinking their hatred. Zhongzhou refers to the occupied Central Plains area at that time. 8 "Who cares?" Three sentences: The imperial court's Northern Expedition is far away. Who cares? The patriots are getting older, but the achievements of restoring the country are still delayed. Unexpectedly. The most tiny appearance. The decision refers to the Northern Expedition. 9 The two sentences "this matter" mean that it is difficult to explain the matter for the time being, so I can only continue to drink to relieve my sorrow. Futou is Futou wine, the most intoxicating wine. Holding one's head, describing the drunken state, means that one's head needs to be supported. He Zhunanxiangzi's poem "It's easy to get drunk with wine, but it's hard to meet an opponent in chess." Zhao Changqing's partridge sky poem "Sleep with your head on your head and listen to the dawn bell."
