Jiuquan gave Li Bai the theory of drunkenness

Before I went to Jiuquan, the impression that Jiuquan gave me was a satellite launch base, in the vast Gobi Desert. The rocket lifted into the sky carrying the satellite and reached into the sky!

This is a prominent memory left to me by the news about the launch of the Jiuquan satellite on TV.

On the way to Jiuquan when I was invited, I was still a little excited about going to a mysterious place that ordinary people cannot go.

Only when I arrived in Jiuquan did I know that Jiuquan was named after the spring and also the wine.

It is said that the spring water of Jiuquan is as sweet and mellow as wine, so it is called Jiuquan.

It is said that General Huo Qubing was given a jar of fine wine by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty for his military exploits in defeating the Huns. General Huo poured the wine into the spring in order to let the soldiers of the three armies enjoy the "emperor's grace". The wine is fragrant and has an endless aftertaste.

On an evening in June 2019, I stood by this famous spring and watched the clear spring water rising up from the bottom of the spring, blooming into a lotus on the water, and rippling again. The water waves flowed into the distance with laughter.

This is the place where General Huo Qubing and other soldiers drank happily from the "wine spring". In the square next to the spring is a tall and magnificent sculpture, which vividly reproduces the scene of them "drinking the celebration wine".

This sculpture and this Jiuquan Park are also known as "Signs of the Western Han Dynasty", which fully shows that Jiuquan people have determined that Jiuquan is called Jiuquan because of the story of Huo Qubing.

But Li Bai didn’t think so. Li Bai must have thought that Jiuquan was called Jiuquan because the water in Jiuquan was as mellow as wine. He also used this as a reason to write into his famous song "Drinking Alone under the Moon": If the sky does not love wine, the wine star will not be in the sky. If the earth does not love wine, it is because there is no fountain of wine. Both heaven and earth love wine, and the love of wine is worthy of heaven. I have heard that it is as clear as a sage, but when I return to the Tao, it is as turbid as a sage. Since the sages have already drank, why ask for gods? Three cups lead to the road, and one bucket leads to nature. But if you get the pleasure from drinking, don’t pass it on to those who are sober.

This almost straightforward poem was written by Li Bai in the imperial capital Chang'an when he was about forty years old.

Li Bai "laughed up to the sky and went out. How can we be from Penghao." Only after arriving in Chang'an did he realize that there are rivers and lakes everywhere, and where can the horizontal and vertical Chinese characters be so clear and easy to learn?

Li Bai could write poems happily, but where in the world can he live and do things happily?

"Things often go wrong, but you can talk to people about them."

If your career is not going as you want, you have to "get drunk, the universe is great, and the sun and moon are long in the pot."

He wrote four poems in one breath to express his state of mind here and now, and also constituted Li Bai's drunkenness theory system that influenced later generations.

The first poem: "A pot of wine among the flowers, drinking alone without any blind date. Raising glasses to the bright moon, facing the shadows of three people. The moon does not know how to drink, and the shadows follow me. For a while, the moon will shadow , Have fun until spring. I sing about the moon, and my dancing shadows are scattered. When I wake up, we are separated, and we travel together forever. "Li Bai keeps these beautiful things with himself. The lonely figure skillfully constructs a romantic picture of "three people facing each other", which spans thousands of years and is still lingering in the minds of frustrated intellectuals.

The second poem is the core of the theory that literati want to drink and get drunk. "Heaven and earth love wine, and if you love wine, you are worthy of Heaven." How justified? "Since the sages have already drank, why ask for gods?" How impassioned? "Three cups lead to the road, one fight leads to nature" How heroic! "But if you get the pleasure of drinking, don't pass it on to those who are sober." What a joy!

The third song: In Xianyang City in March, thousands of flowers look like brocade during the day. Who can be sad in spring alone, he must drink from it. Poor communication and shortcomings are all given by nature. One bottle brings life and death together, and everything is difficult to judge. After being drunk, I lost my world and suddenly found myself sleeping alone. Not knowing that I am here, this is the greatest joy. In the beautiful Chang'an, which is full of flowers, and in the prosperous imperial capital with endless streams of traffic, I am nameless and lonely without friends. I have no choice but to "lose my world after being drunk, and suddenly I am alone." I drink to drown my sorrows, but I am still proud, "I didn't know I was there." This is the greatest joy for the body."

The fourth song: Thousands of poverty and sorrow, three hundred glasses of wine. There is a lot of sorrow, although there is little wine, the wine will not bring sorrow. Therefore, we know that wine is the sage, and the heart will naturally open up when the wine is intoxicated. I left Shou Yang and returned to the empty and hungry face. If you don’t like to drink in today’s world, how can you use it in vain? Crab claws are gold liquid, and bad hills are Penglai. And you must drink fine wine and ride on the moon to get drunk on the high platform. When I drink by myself, I think about the misfortune of others. After thinking about it, I comfort myself by thinking, "Drinking is not popular in today's world, so why not use it in vain?" Drinking also requires money. Thinking about your own deflated pocket, so "Crab Claws" That is gold liquid, and the poor hills are Penglai. "There is wine now, and you must drink good wine and get drunk on the high platform."

On this famous night, Li Bai thought of Jiuquan and his unsatisfactory future. For half his life, he drank wine in front of the moon, boldly establishing his "drinking theory", and drank confidently throughout his life, and often got drunk. Also because of the wine. It also left an impact on future generations no less than his poetry: Drink! It fixed his image of a drunken "Poetic Immortal".

My teacher Tang Xingshun once wrote an essay "Who pays for Li Bai's drinking?" 》Actually, I know that when literati drink, they don’t need to worry about who is hosting them. As long as they have wine to drink, they can just talk big and brag.

I don’t know if it’s true that “Li Bai wrote a hundred poems about wine”, but it’s true that Li Bai wrote a lot of poems related to wine. Later people advised literati to drink wine and use this sentence as the best way. reason. I can't drink, but I like to write and write. This sentence made me suffer.

Sometimes I foolishly wonder, is it because I can’t write good articles because I don’t know how to drink?

Only when you are drunk do you dare to speak nonsense. Is Li Bai's words "flying down three thousand feet" a drunken speech?

Li Bai must have been so bold after drinking. He asked Concubine Yang to polish her ink and asked Gao Lishi to take off his boots. This achieved the arrogance and vanity of the literati and became Li Bai's most awesome talk. .

Li Bai’s drinking really reached a height that would be difficult for future generations to climb, a realm that would be difficult for future generations to surpass. Because of Wang Lun's jars of fine wine, he wrote a friendship that was deeper than the water in Peach Blossom Pond, "The water in Peach Blossom Pond is a thousand feet deep, and it is not as deep as Wang Lun's gift to me." Because there is joy in drinking in the mountains, "Two people drink in the mountains, and the flowers are blooming, one cup after another." "I am drunk and want to sleep, please go away, tomorrow I will come with my harp." Because "if you have reached your destiny, you don't have time to worry, and you can drink fine wine and climb high buildings." He realized that "cutting off the water will make it flow more, raising a cup to pour out the sorrow will make it even more sorrowful." Because "life is not satisfactory", "it will make the boat flat." He considers himself a "wine star, why is he banished to the world?" After drinking, he asked, "I would like to ask you, Dongliu Shui. Who do you want to compare with?" He kept preaching, "Bells, drums, food, and jade are not expensive, but I hope I will stay drunk and not wake up. In ancient times, the sages were all lonely, and only the drinkers left their names." "Even if the five-flowered horse and the golden fur will be exchanged for fine wine, he will sell the eternal sorrow with you." But he always believed that "there will be times when the wind breaks through the waves, and the sails will sail across the sea." So, he went out from Chang'an. , he still became a staff member of Prince Yong's Mansion, and was exiled to the ancient country of Yelang after the defeat...

It is said that Li Bai also rafted on the Dangtu River on a beautiful moonlit night and drank too much. Seeing the beautiful reflection of the moon in the water, he reached out to catch it, but unfortunately he slipped and fell into the water. In Li Bai's romantic way, he ended his drinking, and also ended his beautiful life in the literary sense.

I know that Li Bai is romantic enough, but it is difficult for me to convince myself that Li Bai would die in such a romantic way. I do believe that Li Bai either died of drunkenness or old age and illness, which is more in line with the logic of our real life.

My friends in Jiuquan proudly told me that Li Bai is the image ambassador of Jiuquan. Li Bai’s home is not far from Jiuquan, in Chengji, Longxi. I know that is Li Bai’s ancestral home, and later his ancestors migrated to Suiye. Li Bai actually spent his childhood in Jiangyou, Sichuan. But I believe that Li Bai should have been to Jiuquan and drank the "wine" water of Jiuquan, because he later "traveled to the end of the world with a sword" and traveled through so many great rivers and mountains in the motherland. He would definitely come to Jiuquan. Where could he be? "Jiuquan" has his concerns and the source of his "drunk theory".

Jiuquan is not only legendary about Li Bai, but also proud of Zuo Zongtang. Zuo Zongtang came all the way west and regained Xinjiang. He also planted countless "Zuogong willows" along the way, leaving green barriers on the dry land in the northwest. Zuo Zongtang also left the famous "Jiuquan Park" to Jiuquan. Jiuquan people say that this is China's first real "park" open to the public.

It has been nearly three months since I came back from Jiuquan. For these three months, I have been thinking about Jiuquan and the relationship between Li Bai and Jiuquan. I typed out this short article today, preserving Jiuquan and Li Bai’s Jiuquan in words, and also rewriting my understanding of Jiuquan.
