Celebrity comments on modern poetry with names

Mr Wen Yiduo.

Modern poetry pursues freedom too much, forgetting the unique attributes that poetry should have, and becoming less and less like poetry.

On May 3rd 1926, Mr. Wen Yiduo published an article "The Measurement of Poetry" in the Beijing Morning Post Supplement, which made a special description of this problem.

Even after more than 90 years, this article still has practical significance.

Why are modern poems unpopular? Mr. Wen Yiduo pointed out this problem long ago.

"The reason why poetry can stimulate emotions lies entirely in its rhythm; Rhythm is meter ",which is Mr Wen Yiduo's new definition of" meter ".

"Metric" is not necessarily flat, but actually a sense of rhythm, that is, the so-called beauty of rhythm.

"There are only prose with simple rhythm in the world, and there must be no poetry without rhythm. Originally, poetry has never been divorced from rhythm or rhythm. "
