Appreciation of Poetry: Meeting You Huan (Li Yu)

Silently alone in the west wing, the moon is like a hook, and the solitary phoenix tree locks the autumn in the deep courtyard. Cutting is still messy, which is parting from sorrow. It's not just the general taste.

Hualin thanked Chunhong and hurried away, but the cold rain came early and the wind came late. When do you still have a heavy drink when you are in tears? Naturally, people hate water when they grow up.

Li Yu (937-978), a Chinese character, was the last emperor of the Southern Tang Dynasty, whose historical name was Li Houzhu. In 975, when the Southern Tang Dynasty was destroyed by the Northern Song Dynasty, Li Yu came out naked and was escorted to Bianjing, where he was "disobedient" and lived a life of "facing north day and night, only Lacrimosa". A master of the country who seized power by killing people suddenly became a prisoner at the mercy of others, and his situation plummeted. His grief and hatred are unimaginable to ordinary people. He accepted the sorrow of life and poured his own sorrow into his poems frankly and truly, making his poems "sincere and superficial, with long phrases", which greatly surpassed his predecessors in ideological content and artistic skills and reached the highest realm of poetry. Try to choose two paragraphs of "Meet You Huan" to explain a little.

Watch the first song first. Going to the West Building without Words alone is a narrative that reveals people's thoughts and feelings through actions. The language is plain, but concise and accurate. The action of writing is "going to the West Building". From these three words alone, we can't see people's emotions. If it's Princess Aigong 'e, the west wing, crowding round, is very lively. However, is this "going to the west wing alone" or "speechless"! "Bai Niao's silence is sad", not to mention people? Li Houzhu is full of sadness and hatred, and the image of loneliness and wandering emerges. "The moon is like a hook, and the solitary phoenix tree locks the autumn courtyard." These two sentences describe the scenery and the desolate environment in which the late Lord lived. He boarded the west wing, looked up and saw the crescent moon as a hook, hooking up a string of old grievances and new worries; Overlooking the shade of tung, the courtyard is locked in clear autumn. In the bleak scenery, there is deep sorrow and hatred, and there is affection and overflow in the scene. Chinese parasol tree, in classical poetry, has always been a sad image, "Chinese parasol tree, it rains in the middle of the night, and it is more bitter to leave love" (Wen "More Leaky"), "I miss you according to my promise, and the leaves of Chinese parasol tree are cool at night" (Liu Fuzhi's "Qingpingle") and "Chinese parasol tree has only one leaf, but I don't know how many autumn sounds" (Zhang Yan's "Qingpingle" is an autumn tree. "Where sorrow is synthesized, autumn leaves keep people's hearts" (Wu Wenying's Tang Duoling), autumn scenery aroused a sad mood. Most people will feel cold and lonely in such a deep courtyard with phoenix trees locked in autumn, not to mention Li Houzhu imprisoned by the monarch. In the past, he was a monarch, living in "Long Ta in Fengge was alone, and the branches of Yushu were smoke" ("Broken Array"), accompanied by "Filing moths in the Spring Palace" ("Jade House Spring"). The place where he lives now is "Lonely Wu Tong Shen Yuan", accompanied by "the moon is like a hook". How long should his inner sadness be! "Cutting it all the time is the sadness of parting, but it is very confusing." You can use a new pen to express your feelings and point out your "sadness of parting." His pain of parting is not the general pain of parting between men and women, but the deep pain of losing his country. Ordinary people's sadness can still be thrown away: "If you win in your heart, throw away your sadness for the time being, and the breeze will blow autumn" (Tao Yongshi); Can be washed away: "A clear song and a glass of wine will wash away the worries of ancient and modern times for you" (Liu Shi); Can be cut off: "The songs and dances in Liangyuan are full of romantic feelings, and the wine is like a knife to cut the sorrow" (Liu Ziyi's poem). And Li Houzhu's sorrow is "cutting constantly, reasoning is still chaotic", which shows the depth of sorrow and the length of hatred. What should it be like to have such deep sorrow and long-term hatred? "Don't make a general taste in your heart." "Don't" is different from the general, and it is a special taste of changing from a monarch to a prisoner. This kind of taste, mortals failed to try, can only taste it themselves. Is it sweet and sour, or bitter and spicy? Is it trouble or regret? I've tasted it myself, but I still can't say it. What do others say? This so-called "silence is better than sound", this silent sadness is better than crying.

The second song "Hua Lin Xie Chun Hong" started from Hua Lin, but it is not only about Hua Lin. Forest flowers are the most beautiful things in spring, and spring red is the most beautiful color in spring. What a pity that such a beautiful thing and such a beautiful color suddenly "thank you". This is true not only of flowers and trees, but also of all creatures in nature, as well as social personnel. This so-called "one thing, one thing, extrapolate, touch the analogy." (Zhou Ji's Preface to Selected Poems) Although everything in the universe is complex, many things can be compared because of people's association, and natural scenery and social personnel can be interlinked. In the latter's view, the sudden decline of a good Southern Tang Dynasty is not just like the sudden withering of forest flowers. The image of this forest flower deeply entrusts with the sorrow of national subjugation. In just six words, it contains extremely profound and extensive content. This is the so-called one in a million, all-encompassing. Du Fu's Qujiang is full of melancholy, and Yan Shu's Broken Warrior is full of flowers, all of which express the feeling of lamenting the decline of all sentient beings, but they are not as profound as the words of the late Lord. The word "Xie" shows strong regrets and sighs, but it is still too vague. Later, the word "too hasty" was added to describe it, which made the feeling of regret and exclamation more prominent. The withering of forest flowers is the inevitable result of sentient life, but if it were not destroyed by biting wind and rain, it would not be so hasty as it is now. So, the author went on to write a long sentence of "helpless cold rain comes late wind comes" to explain the reason why the forest flowers withered in a hurry. From the regret and sigh of Hualin to the resentment of the wind and rain. Hualin is beautiful, but it is also weak. How can you stand the rain in the morning and the wind at night? In A Dream of Red Mansions, Lin Daiyu wrote in her Funeral Poem: "It is difficult for wind, sword and frost to press each other 360 days a year. When will it be bright and fresh, once it is drifting, it will be difficult to find it. " Much like the scene described by the late Lord. Li Houzhu used flowers to describe all beautiful things (including people's beautiful lives, of course), with richer contents. It is a natural law to spend a lot of time thanking others, and it is also a natural law to have a rainy and windy night. People have no power to save flowers, nor can they be protected from falling forever, let alone prevented from being destroyed by wind and rain. This is the meaning of the word "helpless" in these nine sentences. Can't change the weather, naturally only "helpless flowers fall." How painful and embarrassing it is to be helpless in the face of the fall of beautiful things. As a result, from writing flowers scattered to writing people's thoughts and painful feelings. The word "rouge tears" is the transition point from flowers to writers. Rouge, the bright color of rain in the forest, refers to beautiful flowers, symbolizing a better life and beautiful things. Tears, as far as flowers are concerned, are the "rain" on pear flowers in spring; For people, it is the "tears" where petals flow like tears. The raindrops of flowers are still human tears, and human tears are still raindrops of flowers. Rain and tears communicate, and things are the same as me. I don't know what things are, what I am, what rain is and what tears are. Its lyricism is really vivid. The word "stay drunk" is implicit and affectionate. Drunk, not drunk, but infatuation. Staying drunk is a situation in which people fall in love with flowers. Flowers in the forest are like tears, and they are reluctant to leave for a better life, while people are like tears, and they can't live without this beautiful thing. People and flowers are so affectionate, but they can't be together forever. "Spring water leaves flowers", water leaves flowers, and spring returns to people. Flowers can't be reopened, and people can't be resurrected when they die. When will it be "heavy"? That will never coincide. Never overlap. When this endless sadness continues. So the poet gave a deep sigh: "People naturally grow up and hate water growing in the East"! In these nine-word long sentences, the first six words are "hate" and the last three words are "water". The river is rolling as far as the eye can see, just like people grow up and hate endlessly. From the beginning of the word to the sentence "when is it heavy", the water is stored layer by layer, and the last sentence suddenly opens, full of sorrow. The front is subtle and euphemistic, like "nothing, everything is romantic", which makes people linger; The last sentence seems to be "only one word, the realm is exhausted", which makes people feel shocked.

Wang Guowei's "thorns on earth" says that the post-subject word "has the meaning that Sakyamuni and Christ bear human sins", which is a more appropriate word. Although the postscript is about the personal pain of losing one's country, there is another kind of profound thoughts and feelings. Just like this song "Meet Huan", it only writes about forest flowers, which actually symbolizes all beautiful things; Writing is only personal sorrow, but it is not limited to one's own sorrow. The image of ci shows all kinds of helpless and complex emotions that are unfavorable to impermanence of life, changeable things and fleeting time. This kind of emotion goes far beyond one's "family life" and has a more universal and extensive content, which seems to contain all the sorrows of human beings. And this is like the "burden of human sin" of Sakyamuni and Christ. This sentence of Wang Guowei is a profound evaluation of the ideological content of the post-subject words. Judging from this poem, Wang's comments are indeed insightful.

Silent, lonely, slowly boarded the empty west wing alone, looking up at the sky, accompanied by a bend of Leng Yue. Looking down, I saw the lonely plane tree in the yard, and the deep courtyard was shrouded in cold and desolate autumn colors.

It is the pain of parting that keeps cutting and confusing. That long sadness (silk) is wrapped around my heart, but it is another kind of unspeakable pain.
