Looking for an English poem about flying.

High flight

by John Gillespie Magee

Oh, I have slipped the 1)surly 2)bonds of earth

And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Sunward I've climbed and joined the 3)tumbling 4)mirth

Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things

You have not dreamed of; 5)wheeled and 6)soared and swung

High in the sun-lit silence. 7)Hovering there

I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung

My eager craft through 8)footless halls of air;

Up, up the long, 9)delirious, burning blue

I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace,

Where never 10)lark nor even eagle flew;

And while, with silent lifting mind I've 11)trod

The high 12)untrespassed 13)sanctity of space,

Put out my hand, and touched the face of God. CE

02, soar high

Oh, I escaped from the shackles of the gloomy earth

Dancing in the sky with my wings and silver bell laughter;

Facing the sun, I climbed high and circled< /p>

Between the happy clouds shining with sunshine - I have done countless things

Things you have never dreamed of; hovering and turning high

In the translucent silence. Soaring there

I chase the howling wind,

Eager to cross the hall in the sky;

Fly high, fly high in the boundless, ecstatic, In the burning blue sky

I step onto the peak that the wind can reach so calmly and gracefully,

The skylark has never been here, and the eagle has never flown here;

< p>And the quietly rising emotions led me into

the unreachable holiness of heaven and earth

Stretching out my hand, I touched the face of God.
