"Autumn" is selected from He Qifang's early poetry collection "Prophecy" (1931-1933). In "Autumn", the poet describes farm life in the most quintessential language. By depicting different scenes and pictures, he creates an artistic conception that is both from the world and far away from the world. It is characterized by tranquility, remoteness, sweetness and softness. By describing the farm leisure scene after the busy summer, a quiet artistic conception is expressed; by describing a life like a paradise in the world, without the slight hardship and bitterness of the farm family, it expresses a distant artistic conception; by describing the hazy and innocent love of boys and girls, it expresses the sweetness of love. Atmosphere; like He Qifang's other poems, it uses soft words to write clear and beautiful images, avoiding noisy scenes and clumsy words, so it has a soft atmosphere. Each picture in the poem, as well as each image in the picture, are all harmoniously unified; therefore, the many characteristics such as tranquility, remoteness, sweetness, softness, etc. on which this artistic conception is formed are all reached to the extreme.

The dewdrops in the morning fell,
The tinkling sound of logging floated out of the valley .
Put down the sickle that has been filled with the fragrance of rice,
Use the basket on your back to hold the plump melons and fruits between the bamboo fences.
Live in a farmhouse in autumn.
Cast a round net into the cold mist on the river,
Put away the shadow of the black cypress leaves like blue bream.
The reeds are covered with white frost,
The little oar is gently swaying back to the mooring.
Autumn games on fishing boats.
The grassy fields become more spacious amidst the sound of crickets.
The stream has become clearer because it has dried up and seen stones.
Where has the sound of the flute on the cow's back gone?
The flute hole filled with the fragrance and heat of the summer night?
Autumn dreams are in the eyes of the shepherdess.
