Thoughts on Reading Zhou's Prose Collection

Silence gives me wisdom —— Comment on Zhou's Silence of the Dead

Zhou is my favorite writer. I read his book in the third year of high school. Looking back now, his books have accompanied my whole life in senior three, adding a quiet spring to my impetuous mood with thinking and philosophy. Quiet, Zhou's prose collection, seems to be purer and more thorough than the old Watches and Pilgrimages. I like silence, not only because of this poetic word, but also because I admire the realm of "silence". Zhou said in the book: "The best state of life is wealth and tranquility, and tranquility is because we get rid of the temptation of external vanity." It is this persistence in pursuit that makes me feel more deeply that silence is extremely precious.

According to the usual situation, the proposition of silence will always be interpreted as a struggle between life and death when it comes to philosophers. On the whole, however, I can easily integrate the quiet atmosphere into every article and every line in the book, which makes me fondle admiringly as soon as I open the page. In Zhou's casual description, silence became a natural existence. Long-term refining and deposition have enriched his heart and made his life get rid of impetuousness and gradually become quiet. It is precisely because of this that silence is doomed not to be a coincidence, but to find the most beautiful surprise from the deepest despair, which is a realm of mature life.

Therefore, I usually choose to read Zhou in the middle of the night, light a desk lamp, make a pot of fragrant tea and follow him to find peace.

Quiet is not instantaneous, quiet needs the creation of the mind. In the book catalogue, I found a long-lost kind topic: happiness, art, persistence, dullness, wisdom, death, existence ... There are traces of philosophy and prose everywhere in the book. The two sometimes go hand in hand, look at each other and appreciate each other; Sometimes when they meet, a silent spark of thinking blooms, which makes people relaxed and happy. In the book, there is neither an "an" nor a "quiet" word on the shell of his life experience and the world situation that readers pay attention to, but without exception, they are all the shortest from silence. What Zhou expects is this kind of fun-filled silence. As long as my life is fun, I won't feel lonely and unbearable, because I will find it quiet and interesting no matter how I taste it.

Quiet is not static, although it often stays on the boundary of a landscape. I used to think that Zhou's interpretation of love was the most exquisite and ingenious. In his old work Man and Eternity, love is like a stream in the forest, which is extraordinary and pitiable. But by this time, when it comes to "privacy" and "separation", that stream is gradually entering the human environment, and it seems to be drying up. But then I silently thought, love really should be in the world, in the hearts of people around me, such a stream is more practical than in the forest. Love should be steady and steady. As he said, "Love is a flowing river". There are more things flowing.

"My quirk is like a philosopher who disdains to record the general history of philosophy. I would rather bypass the once-prominent system and go to the deserted alleys of history to find their footprints. " Zhou Zeng described his yearning for Emerson like this. Similarly, I am glad to use this sentence to express my admiration for Mr. Zhou. As a teenager, Zhou was lucky enough to enter Peking University, which many people dreamed of, and grew up in such a profound and rich humanistic environment and atmosphere. During the Cultural Revolution, the most turbulent decade in China, he was lucky enough to think quietly in the mountains, communicate with sages and philosophers, and meet flowers, plants, insects and fish. Under such social environment and experience, he completed the construction of his thoughts and refined his soul. Great tranquility produces great loneliness, and great loneliness breeds great wisdom. Wisdom and calmness enabled him to complete an inner breakthrough. Today, in the world we live in, the drive of interests transcends everything, the temptation of material drowns out the pleasure of spirit, and even the academic circles have become a noisy vanity fair. It is difficult for us to hear the true call from the heart again-how precious silence will be in such an impetuous society and how difficult it is to remain silent.

Look at the value of loneliness, wisdom and belief, the poet's garden, and the nobleness of human beings lies in the soul, all of which I admire. Although we don't say "quiet" throughout, we can still see Zhou's consistent humanistic pursuit in this book. Simple and plain, without losing the brilliance of poetry, fluent and profound, full of philosophical wisdom. It is such a style that he got rid of the predicament of pure scholarship and achieved a breakthrough in philosophy itself.

Regarding "silence", Zhou wrote: "The best state of life is full silence. Quiet, because get rid of the temptation of the outside world. Rich, because you have the treasure of the inner spiritual world. " "I doubt all too noisy careers and all too ostentatious feelings, which always remind me of Shakespeare's satire on life:' full of sound and fanaticism, but there is nothing in it'". Now that I think about it, this is a wise saying.

In fact, no matter how noisy and uneasy the world becomes, where can't we find a quiet corner? The key is whether we are willing to look for it ourselves, or whether we can remain peaceful after finding it? Even if you can't find peace in reality, you can at least keep a quiet mind and watch your spiritual home. If this territory finally falls, life will really be full of pain and helplessness.

I will read Zhou's Silence again. In the dead of night, quietly open such a book "Silence" and taste the understanding of life, soul and humanity in the book.
