Nora from shian
-to a Japanese girl
It is the gentleness of bowing her head,
like a water lotus, which can't resist the coolness of the wind.
Say treasure, say treasure,
There is sweet sorrow in that treasure-
Nora from shian!
Nora in shian is the last poem in the long poem Eighteen Nora in shian. Eighteen Poems by shian Nora was included in the August 1925 edition of Poems by Zhimo, and the first seventeen poems were deleted when it was reprinted (see Collection of Poems Outside the Collection), and only this one was left, entitled One by shian Nora (for Japanese girls). The work is just five sentences, but it contains infinite separation and tenderness. Write the gentle expression of Japanese girls in the form of a water lotus, which is vivid, pure and touching. The sound of "shian Nora" is light and deep, casual and persistent, concise and exotic. This poem fully shows that the poet Xu Zhimo is good at sketching, expressing feelings and his extraordinary skill in controlling language.
Creation background
This is the last poem in Eighteen Poems by Nora of shian. Shian Nala, a transliteration of "Goodbye" in Japanese.
in may, 1924, Tagore and Xu zhimo visited the Japanese island country hand in hand. This trip to Japan left a deep impression on him. In the article "Fallen Leaves" written after returning to China, he praised the Japanese people's brave spirit of rebuilding their homes with one heart and one mind after the devastating earthquake, and called on China youth to "Everlasting yea!" -always treat life with a positive attitude!
poetry appreciation?
At the beginning of the poem, a well-conceived metaphor is used to describe a girl's shyness. "The gentleness of bowing your head" and "The shyness of the water lotus can't be overcome by the cool wind" are two juxtaposed images that overlap properly. Who are you? Flowers? Or flowers are also people, and people are also flowers? I can't tell the difference, but I feel a hazy aesthetic feeling, like inhaling the fragrance of daffodils. Next, it is the three-fold mutual treasure of Yangguan, which is too thick to melt. "Sweet sorrow" is the poetic eye of the whole poem, and the use of contradictory rhetoric not only enlarges the tension between emotions, but also makes them more full. "shian Nora" is by far the most beautiful translation of the word "goodbye" in Japanese. It is not only a wave of farewell from Yangliuyi, but also a call for the girl's gentle name. There are thousands of amorous feelings, and it goes without saying!
This poem is simple and beautiful. Perhaps its beauty lies in its simplicity. Poets only use Liao Liao's numerals to build an aesthetic stage, move the common drama of life, and let people taste the eternal human feelings! Even among modern poets, this skill of driving poetry and controlling words is rare. The attitude hidden behind the poem is undoubtedly: since time flies, we should treat every inch of life with an aesthetic attitude!
