Reflections on Reading (2)

Zhu in the Southern Song Dynasty

Half an acre of square pond opened, and the sky was overcast.

Why is the water in the pond so clear? Because there is inexhaustible living water for it.

Last night on the Ross River, the huge warship was as light as a feather.

It used to take a lot of effort to push it, but today it can move in the middle of water.

Confucius said, "Those who know (wisdom) are happy with water, while those who are benevolent are happy with mountains." ("The Analects of Confucius Yongye")

1600 years later, Zhu, as his most influential heir, a master and promoter of Confucianism, was the only scholar in the Southern Song Dynasty who was personally handed down by non-disciples and enjoyed the Confucius Temple. He was a model of the wise and the benevolent.

Zhu is the most famous representative of China's traditional mainstream academic thought after Confucius. He is a philosopher, educator, calligrapher and poet.

Zhu Chuanshi's poems are not many, only about 40, but about half of them are related to water, which shows the cleverness of his wise men. These two sentences, "Reading Comprehension", not only describe the scenery, but also have useful images, which make people have an epiphany in vivid metaphors and appreciate Zhu's thought of studying.

Half an acre of square pond opened, and the sky was overcast.

Why is the water in the pond so clear? Because there is inexhaustible living water for it.

The scenery of the first poem is realistic, spreading the artistic conception from a small pond in the garden. The "half-acre square pond" is flat and exquisite, and when it is opened, it seems that people can see the clear and bright water surface, reflecting the "sky and clouds" like a mirror. The small square pool at the foot blends with the ever-changing clouds in the sky, bright and vivid.

The last two sentences go straight to the point. Why is the question channel (pronoun, referring to Tang Fang) so clear? Because of the injection of living water from the source. The author may not see the source of the pond, but infer the answer from its light, which is not only a reflection of reality, but also a feeling of reading. Knowledge needs continuous learning, academic needs continuous improvement, and ideas need continuous development. These are all potential, just like hidden underwater sources. But as long as flowing water comes in, even a small pond will always be fresh, so that we can know everything in the world like Kagami Akira.

The relationship between "purity" and "liveliness" is the relationship between results and causes, which is of guiding significance not only in reading and learning, but also in social culture. For example, from the perspective of Neo-Confucianism, it can also be considered as an artistic interpretation of "innovation, innovation, innovation" (university).

Last night on the Ross River, the huge warship was as light as a feather.

It used to take a lot of effort to push it, but today it can move in the middle of water.

The second poem is also based on the scene, but its scene is more fictional and the truth is more remarkable. The ancient warship "Meng Chong" covered with the skin of Mengniu was a "great ship" at that time.

Usually sailing in shallow water requires everyone's hard work, and if you are not careful, you will run aground. But it rained cats and dogs last night, and the spring tide surged. The great ship floats in the middle stream as easily as a feather, and is free. The overflowing spring is the foundation and the driving force; And the great ship is thought, not action.

For example, in the process of thinking or creating, a night of spring rain has passed.
