Wa Qiyihe was born in Yi Nationality Village, Daliangshan, China in 1970s. He is a member of Shan Ying Group. His representative works include I Love My Hometown, The Rock of Liangshan, Children Leaving Home, People Like Fire, Wandering People, Sad Mother Tongue and Loyalty.
1993 * * * Shan Ying group was established together. His songs are as open as the mountains in his hometown, from the early Yi people and the same wish to the recently released Gone with the Wind. Waqi Yihe is committed to international experimental music with Yi music as its source, and explores diverse musical expressions. He has a wide range of fans in Chinese mainland and is a well-known singer in the Yi area.
Wayihe absorbed the strengths of various schools of music in the world and integrated them into his own creation. His first solo album "Sister's Tears" is the concentrated expression of this musical temperament.
