What is the difference between Tao Yuanming and Su Shi in Su Dongpo 16?

Tao Yuanming in history did not learn Buddhism.

Tao Yuanming is active and Su Shi is passive. The active person is like a fish with a hook, and the passive person is like a horse with a bow. Su Shi studied Buddhism all his life and often wanted to die, but he never got rid of his official career. Tao Yuanming didn't study Buddhism, but he dared to make a choice. Therefore, Su Shi thinks that although he doesn't learn Buddhism, he has Buddha nature, so it is better to sigh than to sigh.

Zhezong changed the title of the year to "Shaosheng", which meant to inherit the policy of Zongshen Dynasty. Soon, Lu Dafang and Fan Chunren were dismissed, and Zhang Dun and Tao An were appointed as slaughter ministers. These reformist ministers who returned to the imperial court completely abandoned the innovative spirit and specific policies of Wang Anshi's new law, aiming at cracking down on "Yuan You party member" and venting their grievances that had been left out for many years. As a result, the imperial edicts of dismissal and demotion followed. In just one or two months, more than 30 senior officials serving in the DPRK at that time were all demoted to remote areas such as Lingnan.

In this political storm, the Su Shi brothers bear the brunt.

Su Shi was not very surprised when he received the power of attorney. This storm predicted more than half a year ago has really come! The times are like this, and we should face it calmly. Taking Xie Shangbiao as an example, he recalled the ups and downs of his life. "There are many blessings and disasters, which are rare in ancient and modern times." His heart was hard to avoid being sad, but he immediately calmed himself down and didn't make unnecessary excuses. "He dares to think and evade responsibility." When the political situation turns, right and wrong are reversed.

Su Shi's heart is extremely heavy, but at this time he is unable to help these suffering people!

However, this is the reality. On the one hand, sincere Su Shi is still worried about the people on his way to relegation, and on the other hand, politicians are throwing stones when they are down. Soon, another imperial decree was issued.

Death, luck and misfortune are not done by human beings. If people persist, it will inevitably bring endless pain. For decades, Su Shi has been trying to get rid of this kind of person's inevitable persistence and delusion by becoming a Buddhist and cultivating his mind. The profound academic education and experience have broadened his mind and broadened his horizons, so that he will not be confined to a corner and suffer from loss. The bumpy official career made him more and more tired of the chaotic officialdom and capricious fame and fortune. Lamenting the impermanence of the world and rejoicing in it at the same time.

There are not many days in the future. The sharp contrast between the past and the present, the great contrast between prosperity and decline, really requires extraordinary endurance. People are not saints, and emotional ups and downs are inevitable, and Su Shi is no exception. But he has seen through the inside story of life.

The Diamond Sutra is the most popular and valued Buddhist classic in China, among which four famous sentences are:

Everything has a way, like a dream, like a bubble, like dew, like electricity, so look at it this way.

However, the end of good dreams always comes too soon. Just when Su Shi proposed to his eldest grandson Fu Su, bad news followed. Mai Su had already granted the order of Renhua County in Shaozhou, but now he is not allowed to take up his post because of the new court system (relatives of fallen officials are not allowed to serve in the neighboring areas of Chendi), and Su Shi's own concession (that is, the deputy of Ningyuan Army as a salary) has repeatedly demanded.

In the vast universe, China is like a millet in Taicang. Why should a small individual worry about going home? So he naughtily imagined himself as an ant. Suddenly, he met a basin of water falling on the road and climbed up a blade of grass floating on the water, but he didn't know where he was going.

Soon, the water dried up and the ants went straight home. They couldn't help crying when they saw their own kind. "I hardly saw you!" Thought of here, Su Shi couldn't help laughing. Later, he wrote this thinking fragment into a short article full of wisdom and machine interest:

When I arrived in the South China Sea, I looked at the endless water around me and felt sad. "When did you arrive at this island?" After thinking about it, heaven and earth are in stagnant water, Kyushu is in the Sea of Japan, and China is in the four seas. Who is not on the island? Cover the basin, the mustard floats in the water, and the ants are attached to the mustard, at a loss. When the water dried up, the ants left. When they saw it, they cried and said, "Long time no see. I didn't know there was a way to extend between pitches! " "Read this can be a smile. Wuyin (A.D. 1098) wrote this paper on September 12th, when he and his guests drank a little wine and got drunk. -"Try to write according to the book"

People who are addicted to worldly fame and fortune naturally cannot understand Su Shi's "detachment and complacency", let alone believe that there is such a lofty realm in the world. However, Su Shi did lead a carefree life. Because he practiced the optimism advocated by his predecessor Fan Zhongyan, whom he admired all his life: "Worry before the world", and he can forget his personal worries and "be happy after the world", so he can always appreciate the great pleasure of life. Su Shi has an incomparable skill, that is, he is good at integrating with the surrounding environment and the local people. It is his consistent style to be at home all over the world, advance and retreat as usual, share worries for the people and have fun with the people.

Therefore, Su Shi thinks that although he doesn't learn Buddhism, he has Buddha nature, so it is better to sigh than to sigh. Second, when Zen developed to the Song Dynasty, it advocated "seeing nature and becoming a Buddha", and popular belief enlightened and broke the monk's virtue, which often conformed to the current situation. Thirdly, Su Shi's speculation about Tao Yuanming from his own realm also has the recognition effect of his poet's aesthetic activities. He tried to raise Tao Yuanming's realm to the height of Zen.

It's a narrow escape, but isn't it a once-in-a-lifetime pleasure to see the wonders and customs? Looking ahead, his mood is gloomy. Although his fate improved again, he learned the philosophy of Laozi and Zhuangzi's gain and loss, honor and disgrace, and saw through the fickle rivers and lakes. As Confucius lamented, "The Tao (king) can't do it, but he floats on the sea with a fork." "He wants to send a boat and live in seclusion.
