Whenever Jews in the Old Testament want to describe a great victory, they either compare it with God's great victory over Egypt or compare it with Gideon's conquest of Midian in the judge's period. In the history of the Jews, the "Midian days" is indeed a glorious experience, and they will never forget it. The author of Judges left a considerable space for Gideon, and the author of Hebrews 1 1 praised Gideon by comparing him with some great heroes, such as Samuel and David.
