You Miao (mào), a poet of the Southern Song Dynasty. His courtesy name was Yanzhi, his nickname was Ji Chang, his nickname was Suichu Layshi, and in his later years, he was also named Lexi and Mushi Laoyimin. His grandfather Youshen and his father Youshixiang were good at writing history and poetry. You Miao, together with Yang Wanli, Fan Chengda and Lu You, are known as the "four great poets of the Southern Song Dynasty".
Main achievements:
The main achievements of You Miao's life are his poetry creation and collection of a large number of books, and compiling the earliest version catalog in China.
Fang Hui of the Yuan Dynasty once said that in the Southern Song Dynasty, "since the ZTE, the poets must be called You, Yang, Fan, and Lu". You Miao, Yang Wanli, Fan Chengda and Lu You are collectively known as the four great poets of the Southern Song Dynasty. Unfortunately, a large number of You Miao's poetry manuscripts and other writings, as well as more than 30,000 volumes of books, were all burned in a fire. The fifty-nine poems I have seen were collected by You Dong, his descendant from the Qing Dynasty, from some local chronicles and similar books. Judging from the ideological content of these remaining poems, You Miao, like the three poets Lu, Yang, and Fan, expressed dissatisfaction with the small imperial court of the Southern Song Dynasty at that time, which was bent on surrender and was very dissatisfied with the broken mountains and rivers and the oppression of the people by aliens. Angry. For example, from the poem "Falling Plum Blossoms", we can see the poet's worries about state affairs and his anger at the Southern Song Dynasty court that did not want to recover and was intoxicated with singing and dancing to promote peace: "On the west bank of Liangxi River and east of the small bridge, the fallen leaves are reflected in the water. Five. In the midst of the sorrowful flowers of the night, where is the song of "Yushu" in the midst of the spring events? The song of "Scent of Mountains" has not ended yet, but I recall the drunken way back to the lonely mountain, the fragrant snow of the horse's hooves against the east wind."
You Mao's poems are written in an easy and natural way, clear and fresh, without fancy words or allusions. "Qingshan Temple" can be called the representative work of his existing poems: "The majestic pavilions and pavilions are open to the sky, and the lakes and mountains outside the door are piled with green. The country is confused by the rippling smoke, and Penglai is recognized by the clouds in the sky. The incense is sold like a dragon, and the elephant is golden and green, after the rain. The unicorn plies the green moss. I have been here three times in twenty-nine years, and I know how many times I will come back in my lifetime.”
