Appreciation of Furong Qu

Qiu Jiang is a fog lotus, and Qiu Jiang's daughter will be heartbroken.

The crimson robe is shallow and warm in spring, and the green sleeves are cool in the sunset.

Carp waves, first frost Dongting, leaves fly.

Where to pick a lotus boat, cherish hibiscus lust. Some people interpret Ode to the Lotus as a political metaphor poem with gentle words and exhortations, while others think that this poem implies a sentimental life experience and an unknown bosom friend. For modern readers, it is also necessary to analyze and appreciate this poem as a romantic paradise. From ancient times to the present, especially in Yuefu in the Southern and Northern Dynasties, there are many works describing the custom of picking lotus in Jiangnan and the feelings of lotus pickers derived from it. Sadula's "Lotus Song" inherits the style of Yuefu poetry in the past, starting with lotus, and describes the scene that women in water villages are moved by the scenery and lament the fleeting youth.

The first couplet of this poem describes the hibiscus on the river in autumn and the woman rowing on the river. The beautiful scenery of hibiscus blooming on the river is in sharp contrast with the sadness of women's heartbroken.

The couplet then describes the life of Qiu Jiang's daughter: on a warm spring day, she wears a red dress and looks after the lotus leaves all over the river; In the autumn twilight, her emerald long sleeves and lotus leaves fluttered against the cool breeze. "Crimson robe" and "Cuixiu" are both worn by Qiu Jiang's daughter. These two colors are the colors of hibiscus flowers and leaves, suggesting the connection between people and flowers. People are like flowers, flowers are like people. "Shallow spring" and "sunset glow" are relative, which means that Qiu Jiang's daughter and Furong always accompany each other from spring to autumn and from morning to dusk. "Green sleeves are cool at dusk", which is easily reminiscent of the last two sentences of Du Fu's poem "Beauty": "And, forget her thin sleeves and cold, leaning in the sunset next to a tall bamboo". Beauty describes a woman who lives in an empty valley to escape the war. When all her relatives died, her husband abandoned her and married another woman. "All he can see is the smile of his new sweetheart. How can an old man cry?" It is the saddest love tragedy for elderly women. This reveals the source of Qiu Jiang's daughter's melancholy.

Necklace couplets describe cold autumn scenery such as Jiangbo and fallen leaves. Starting from Qu Yuan's "Autumn wind curling, waves in Dongting under the leaves" ("Nine Songs and Sweet Lady"), the rustling of autumn leaves in Dongting has become a distinctive sign of the early arrival of cold and autumn. Sadulla used this allusion to point out the seasonal changes on the river. Trees are dying, which makes people moved: if trees are like this, how can lotus flowers, which are more delicate than trees, resist the destruction of the four seasons?

William said that Qiu Jiang's daughter is facing the blooming lotus flowers all over the river. Because she cherishes this delicate flower, she is reluctant to paddle and paddle, even more reluctant to pick it for fear of hurting that fragrant and beautiful flower. This heart that loves flowers also answers the suspense raised at the beginning of the poem: Qiu Jiang's daughter is "heartbroken" at the blooming hibiscus flowers, because it is the most beautiful time to see hibiscus flowers in full bloom, but autumn has come and the flowers will soon fall; Delicate and charming is only short-lived, and beauty cannot last long. This is the lament of Qiu Jiang Ailian's daughter. Furong and Qiu Jiang's daughter love, but Qiu Jiang's daughter is not pitiful. From flowers to people, Qiu Jiang's daughter is naturally a lotus full of gloomy clouds. The emotional expression of the whole poem is very delicate and tortuous.

This poem is the masterpiece of Sadula Yuefu poetry. Yang Weizhen, a Yuan Dynasty poet who made good friends with Sadula, once commented on his friend: "Tianxi's poems are romantic and natural, and they are a model for a family. Although Wang Jian and Zhang Ji can't go far, Gong Ci and "Lotus Song". " Comparing the achievements of Ode to the Lotus with those of Wang Jian, Zhang Ji and others is a high evaluation.

The style of the poem is graceful and tactfully, taking hibiscus as the starting point, and repeatedly expressing Qiu Jiang's daughter's heart melody in twists and turns. Facing the rustling of blooming hibiscus flowers and trees, she was moved by the scene before her, and there was a melancholy that flowers and trees were dying, beauty was easy to get old, and youth and beauty could not last forever. Here, flowers are people and people are flowers. The two images of Qiu Jiang's daughter and Qiujiang Furong overlap. In Women's Lament and Regret for Flowers, it is revealed that the most prosperous time is the beginning of decline. This poem is beautiful in style, but not vulgar; He is good at using the artistic conception of his predecessors' poems, but he is not blunt and has high artistic skills and artistic appeal. With beautiful writing style, the author captured the girl's heart in As Nothing Happened: from the withering of injured flowers to the mourning of youth; People who never cherish flowers go to self-pity and self-pity without confidants. Like sadness, but also like expectation, the aftertaste is long and intriguing.
