Appreciation of ancient travels

Li He often used his poetry to explore the mysteries of the universe and the true meaning of life, and wrote arias with philosophical meanings. This song "Gu You You Xing" is such a work.

"Where will the present and past end? A thousand years old will drift in the wind." Although these two sentences are very short, they are highly condensed poems with rich connotations. These two sentences use thick lines to outline a background of endless time and vast and infinite space. Although the sentence "Qiantai" only refers to time on the surface, "Qiantai" floats by like a gust of wind in the long river of time. But "thousand years old" does not only refer to time, but also refers to everything within a thousand years. The people, things, and things within this thousand years have also drifted away with the wind like time, without a trace. The first four sentences of the poem say that when the sun sets in the Western Mountains, the night is deep, and the cycle of day and night has been like this in the past and present without end. It is the law of nature; even if it is a thousand years old, in the development of history, it is like the wind. Quick, fleeting. The poet has expressed this feeling in many chapters, such as "The Queen Mother's peach blossoms have been red a thousand times, how many times has Pengzu Wu Xian died?" ("Hao Ge"). Comparing immortals to mortals shows how short life is. However, not everyone can understand the truth that the sun and the moon change each other and that the present and the past are endless, combined with reality.

This is the extremely profound content contained in the first four sentences. Among them are the notes of the poet's heart trembling as time passes, and the vast space background of distant time. The sentence "Thousand years old drifts with the wind" brings up the following four sentences.

The last four sentences of the poem further describe the changes in nature, which are not subject to human will; seeking immortality and immortality will ultimately be difficult to achieve. Don’t you see, even though the sand on the sea is fine, it can grow into stone after years of changes. The poet once wrote in "Dream Sky": "Under the three mountains of yellow dust and clear water, the changes of a thousand years are like a horse running around." The changes in the world's vicissitudes of life are like a horse running around for a thousand years, which means rapid change. Sea sand turning into stone talks about huge changes. As time goes by, everything in the world will change. The stone bridge of the King of Qin was blown by a group of fish; the copper pillars of the Han Dynasty were polished and polished, and they no longer exist. This shows that as time goes by, changes in the mausoleum and valley will inevitably occur. This is the common law of the growth and decline of all things. It seems that "There is nothing as high as a Qin bridge, where fish foam can be blown; nothing as strong as a copper pillar, where wandering can be eliminated. This is the knowledge that things in the world will not change for a long time. Who said that immortality is really attainable?" (Yao Wenxie's " "Changgu Collection")

This poem is rich in philosophy and full of rational interest. It has no branches and vines and is purely rational, which is rare in Li He's poems. In terms of structure and brushwork, first write about the sun and the moon, changing repeatedly, flowing quickly and without an end, which is the unchanging way; then write about the sea sand changing to stone, fish foam blowing on the bridge, and the flowing light disappearing, which cannot be stopped. For the principle of change. The contrast between change and immutability deepens the theme and enhances the appeal of the poem.

Li He is good at understanding the legacy of Yuefu, "The colors are rich and wonderful, and the purpose of the words is often outside the text, engraved in the words of the poem, and muddled in the intention." (Mao Chihuang's "Poetry Biandi") This is exactly characteristics of this poem. The colors are rich and wonderful, like "fish foam blowing on the bridge"; the words engraved in the text are like "empty light wanders" (describing time); the meaning is muddy like "the copper pillars fade away every year"; and those that contain the purpose of the words outside the text are poetry. There is no mention of the current state being confused by the trend of gods, but every sentence contains a deep stab at the ills of the times. When poets were in the political chaos of the Yuan Dynasty, in order to prevent unexpected events, they had to hide themselves deeply, or hide their lonely and angry thoughts in short chapters, or use subtext to express satire and complaint. This should be regarded as a very natural thing. .
