The ancients also chased stars? Li Bai has the largest number of fans in Chang'an City
The first person who must be mentioned when it comes to star chasing is Li Bai. During the Tang Dynasty, he was probably even more popular than the current A-list stars. He has many fans in the city of Chang'an. Li Bai was born in the first year of Chang'an (701) and became famous in Chang'an when he was fifteen years old.
Although Li Bai's official career was not smooth, he wrote poems well. One of his super fans was Du Fu. Du Fu's admiration for him was no less than that of modern star-chasers. He thought about Li Bai day and night.
Du Fu wrote many poems in his life, and he wrote no less than twenty poems for Li Bai alone. "Remembering Li Bai in Spring", "Embracing Li Bai in Winter", "Gift to Li Bai", "Dream of Li Bai's Two Poems", etc. God lived up to Du Fu's admiration. Li Bai went to Du Fu in the third year of Tianbao (744). Located in Luoyang. Du Fu finally met his idol, and they got along well with each other as they were both poets. So Du Fu not only caught up with his idol but also successfully became one of his friends.
Li Bai also has a super fan named Wei Wan, who is crazier than Du Fu. His idol Li Bai likes to travel around. So Wei Wan followed in his footsteps and traveled around in order to meet his idol. Modern people rely on trains, planes, and high-speed rail to chase stars. Wei Wan relied on a pair of good legs.
This man's perseverance is really strong. He followed Li Bai for more than three thousand miles just to meet Li Bai and personally gave him a book of poems. There are only two poems he left in the world, both of which describe Li Bai's talent and admiration for him.
He chased Li Bai for two full years before meeting Li Bai, and during this time he was just a little behind Li Bai. He even went to sleep in the inn room where Li Bai had stayed while on the road.
We saw Du Fu’s obsession with Li Bai earlier, but in fact he himself also had a lot of crazy fans, the most famous one being the poet Zhang Ji. Zhang Ji was as obsessed with Du Fu as Du Fu was obsessed with Li Bai. He once did some crazy things, such as finding a lot of Du Fu's poems and burning them while reading them.
After that, he ate the burned ashes with honey, every day. He is not crazy. According to him, after eating Du Fu's poems, he can write as good poems as Du Fu.
In the Tang Dynasty, there was another star-chasing celebrity, Bai Juyi. Bai Juyi chased Li Shangyin. In his later years, he especially liked Li Shangyin's poems. Similarly, Bai Juyi and Li Shangyin also got along well with each other because of their poetry writing.
Since then, the two often played together. One day Bai Juyi told Li Shangyin that he hoped that I could be reincarnated as your son after my death. This is good, Bai Juyi also succeeded in chasing stars. After his death, Li Shangyin gave birth to a son and named him Bai Lao.
But this child was not particularly smart. Until Li Shangyin's smart younger son was born, people said that the younger son was Bai Juyi's reincarnation.
It is not good for fans to be too enthusiastic. For example, Wei Jie, who is one of the four most beautiful men along with Pan An, has many fans. The whole city of Nanjing is his fan. Wei Jie has been very good-looking since he was a child. When people see him on the street, they think he is a beauty.
However, such a handsome man was not in good health. When he arrived in Nanjing, there were too many people to welcome him. It was very difficult to stop him outside the city and enter. Wei Jie was not in good health in such a situation. He was overworked and died of illness when he returned home. Many people said that people at that time looked down upon Wei Jie to death, and this was also the reason why people looked down upon Wei Jie and killed him.
The ancient people’s pursuit of stars was more extreme than that of modern people. Everyone tried their best to get close to their idols.
But most of them will progress together with their idols and work hard to become the same people as their idols. In this way, when they meet their idols in the future, they may become good friends with them, just like Comrade Du Fu. The last point is not to blindly chase stars or put excessive pressure on your idols.
Like Wei Jie, he himself was in poor health, and he fell ill and died directly under such crowding and fatigue.
It’s easier to leave a good impression on your idol and work hard to imitate him and become a better person. What do you think?
