Brief introduction of selected authors of British and American literature

Wu Xianglin, a native of Xiangyin, Hunan, was born in 1930. 1952 graduated from English Department of Peking University. 1958 graduate student majoring in English literature in Nanjing University, staying as a teacher. 198 1 transferred to the school of foreign languages of Nanjing normal university as an English professor and director of the teaching and research section for English majors. Visiting scholar at California State University (Sacramento) 1986 to 1987, specializing in British and American poetry. 1994 was granted special government allowance for outstanding contribution of higher education in the State Council. Engaged in English language and literature teaching and research for more than 40 years. The main translations are: English Poetry Metre and Free Poetry, Tales of Shakespeare's Plays (Notes), 300 New Versions of Tang Poetry (one of the translators), COBUILD English-Chinese Dictionary (Editorial Board) and so on. In addition, he has published more than 40 academic papers. This book is the result of years of teaching this course by the editor. American professors Linell Davis and Michael True, who have taught in many universities in China for many years, spoke highly of this book. It is regarded as an excellent textbook for China students to learn English and American literature.
