Place names in Putian area

The local Puxian people belong to the main existence area of Putian people, and are generally distributed in the local and surrounding Putian dialects. Northeast China has been bounded by Xincuo Town of Putian County and Garlic Ridge in the north of Fuqing County of Fuzhou City for thousands of years. Xincuo area has belonged to Putian County since it was founded, and tens of thousands of Putian people have lived here since ancient times. Putian dialect has been used in this area since ancient times and is a part of Putian dialect area. Xincuo Town was included in Fuqing County in the 1950 s because Fuqing County wanted to develop industry and agriculture. Cuo, in Putian dialect, it means house. Sutian and Kari in Putian County were ceded to Fuqing County in the Ming Dynasty, and now they are in the south of Yuxi Town in Fuqing City and in the west of East Jang Jin. Before the end of the Ming Dynasty, the languages of places that were later renamed Jieshan Town and Fengting adjacent to Putian were all Puxian dialect. These villages have always belonged to Lianjiang Li, Xianyou County, Xinghua Prefecture (now Fengting Town, Putian City). They speak Puxian dialect and are popular with Puxian customs. Up to now, many complicated weddings, funerals and festive festivals in these villages still retain a strong color of Puxian. However, due to the geographical location adjacent to Huibei, Li Kai, a Hui 'an man who served as an assistant to the governor of Huguang during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1573- 19), proposed that these villages, together with Cendou and Xiuxi (now Tuling Town) in Fengting, should be placed under Huibei for the convenience of jurisdiction. Later, Li Kai stepped in to raise funds and bought these villages. Since then, these seven villages, which owned more than 65,438+00,000 mu of land and thousands of people at that time, have been included in Hui 'an County, and the Huixian boundary pillar originally located in Baishuikeng has been moved several kilometers to the north and moved to the combination pond of Jieshanzire Village, which originally belonged to Xinghua House (Putian City). According to the records in the old editions of Putian County Records and Fengting Records, although the seven villages were under the jurisdiction of Hui 'an at that time, Fengting was still responsible for the taxation and food of these villages. Putian dialect is not only used in Xincuo town, but also in some villages in the north and east of the town. These people are actually Putian people, not Fuqing people: they have been affiliated to Yidu Town of Yongtai County since ancient times, and were assigned to Fuqing in 1958 because of the industrial and agricultural development of Fuqing. Nearby is Xincuo Village, Xinxian Town, Putian. Putian county was established in 568, and Fuqing county was established more than 30 years later/kloc-0. Putian county was not established after it was drawn from Fuqing county. On the contrary, some places in the west and south of Fuqing County were drawn from Putian County. Because Xincuo Town was assigned to Fuqing from Putian County, Xincuo Town is nominally located in the southwest of Fuqing City, just across a bridge from Jiangkou Town of Putian City, connected by mountains and rivers, and facing Xinghua Bay in the east.

There are three bays from east to south: Xinghua Bay, Pingwan Bay and Meizhou Bay.
