I learned about the Mekong River because I wanted to write a National Day movie viewing guide before the National Day. This is my favorite of the four National Day movies. I originally wanted to watch the premiere, but unfortunately I caught a cold and postponed it until today. After reading it, one word is so refreshing!
"Operation Mekong" is based on the Mekong River tragedy that occurred in October 2011, in which 13 Chinese crew members were brutally murdered. Later, in order to restore innocence and justice to the compatriots who were killed, China decided to send anti-drug elites to form a special operations team and sneak into the Golden Triangle to uncover the story of the mastermind behind the scenes.
The Golden Triangle has always been a troubled place, a regional powder keg at the intersection of many countries. The film is based on real events and tells the story of the righteous actions of brave men. The special operations team went abroad to show off our country's prestige in foreign lands. In the film, the bloody scene of the tragedy that day was restored in fragments, vividly showing the murderer's cruelty and inhumanity. The task force's ruthless and resolute actions are shown in a thrilling way. The process of fierce battles and arrests is interlocked and advanced step by step. The plot is compact, not procrastinating or messy. The shots are dynamic, the action scenes are punchy, the big scenes are shot in real locations, the scenes are hot and exciting, and the editing is tight. Director Lin Chaoxian has always been a master of action movies. The scenes in "The Witness", "The Informant", and "The Fight" can all be called hardcore, powerful and fierce. Director Lin is weak in emotional scenes between men and women. Fortunately, this film basically does not touch on that aspect. It is all about charging into battle. Director Lin rolled up his sleeves and shook his arms casually. This time the investment was upgraded, and the scenes lived up to expectations, creating many action spectacles with strong visual impact. Lin Chaoxian doesn't like green screen computer special effects and is obsessed with real shooting, so the crew also suffered a lot and suffered in various ways. The viewing experience brought by real shooting is also more sincere.
The young and old heroic duo composed of Zhang Hanyu's tough guy uncle and Peng Yuyan's popular meat also work well together, and the performance is hearty. Zhang Hanyu plays Gao Gang, a wise and courageous anti-drug policeman and the captain of the special operations team. He is a rough-and-tumble person who speaks dirty words and has a sweet temperament, but he is also rough and subtle. His actions in pretending to be a nouveau riche boss are also very lifelike and very interesting. The fight with the murderer in the mud pit next to the train was clean and exciting. The intelligence agent played by Peng Yuyan is slightly less impressive, but overall, the degree of completion is still good. Peng Yuyan puts on a beard to look ugly. He must take the opportunity to reveal his true appearance, otherwise female fans may not agree. The director knows this well.
In today’s domestic film market where shoddy 3D and special 3D are everywhere, this film has many fast-moving and shaking shots. The film crew chose to release it in 2D, which is very comfortable to watch and also shocking. It can be called the conscience of the industry.
Of course, this film too flaunts personal heroism, and some plots are too exaggerated. In addition, the dog named Xiaotian is like the magical dog Lacy who descended to earth. He can do anything, even clear mines. Haha, he is much more useful than an agent.
Finally, Ban Gu of the Eastern Han Dynasty said in "Han Shu": "Anyone who offends a strong Han will be punished no matter how far away he is.
