Under what background did my comrade-in-arms Qiu write?

This is a revolutionary memoir, and the story takes place in the Korean battlefield. The author is Comrade Li Yuanxing. He was Qiu Ban's vice squad leader, Qiu's close comrade-in-arms and a second-class hero. He fought with Qiu in the "39 1" highland and witnessed the whole process of Qiu's heroic sacrifice. This article is the author's recollection of the scene at that time.

Edit the social background of this paragraph 1950, New China was just founded, and American imperialism launched a war of aggression against Korea, which spread to the Yalu River in China. In order to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea and defend the country, Chinese people's Volunteer Army bravely crossed the Yalu River, fought side by side with the Korean people, defeated the American aggressor troops, drove the so-called United Nations troops led by the United States to the south of the "38th parallel", and forced the United States to sign an armistice agreement.

In this battle, Chinese people's Volunteer Army carried forward the spirit of patriotism and internationalism, and many epic fighting heroes emerged, which were praised as "the most lovely people" by the people of the motherland. Qiu Martyr is one of them.

The "39 1" highland controlled by the enemy, like a tusk, broke into the position of our volunteers. We will launch a surprise attack at dusk.

My comrade-in-arms Qiu.

Strike, pull out this tusk and push the front to the south.

On that day, before dawn, we dived into the ravine below the "39 1" highland and lurked in a relatively hidden ravine. The sun gradually climbed up the hill. I found that more than 60 meters ahead is the enemy's frontier position. You can see not only barbed wire and parapets, but also bunkers and bunkers, and even the enemy can hear them. The enemy is commanding, of course, it is easy to find us. We must lie still on the ground, cough or cross our legs, which may be found by the enemy. I looked ahead. The monitor and several soldiers were crouching in the yellow grass. They are covered with thick thatch as camouflage, which is difficult to find at a glance. I looked at Qiu, who was not far from me. He is also disguised all over, hiding better, so close that I can hardly find him.

Our artillery kept bombarding the enemy positions, and clouds of smoke rose from the top of the mountain. The blockhouses at the enemy's front were pushed over one by one. Looking at this scene, I just hope it will get dark soon and have a good fight.

At noon, the enemy suddenly started firing, and rows of shells exploded near us. Obviously, the enemy has felt that his forward position is not very safe, but under the artillery fire of our army, he didn't have the courage to come out and search, so he had to take out his housekeeping skill "fire alert".

After the artillery fire, the enemy used incendiary bombs and the weeds near us caught fire. The flame spread with a bang and the yellow thatch was stripped off. Suddenly I smelled a thick burning smell of cotton cloth. I turned to look, alas! The fire killed Qiu! His cotton-padded jacket was already burning, and the flames were running around in the wind, and a fire covered his whole body.

At this time, Qiu Cai jumped out of the fire and rolled on the spot to put out the fire. I'm lying near him, just jump over and tear off his cotton-padded clothes, and I can save my comrades. But in this way, we will be discovered by the enemy on the hill, and our whole class and the whole latent troops behind will suffer heavy losses, and all the battle plans will be lost this time.

My heart is tight. How can you stand this? I'm afraid that young soldier will suddenly jump up or scream. I dare not look at him. I can't bear to see my comrades burned alive. But I can't help watching. I'm looking forward to some miracle-the fire suddenly went out. My heart ached, and tears blurred my eyes.

For the whole class, for the whole latent troops, for the victory of this battle, Qiu lay motionless in the fire like a boulder. The fire burned on him for more than half an hour before it gradually went out. The great soldier didn't move an inch until his last breath, and didn't let out a moan.

At dusk, exciting slogans resounded through Shan Ye: "Revenge for Comrade Qiu!" With full of anger, we bravely rushed to the "39 1" highland. All the enemies were wiped out by us. Look at the time, it is only 20 minutes from the beginning of the charge to the end of the battle.

I will never forget that day-19521kloc-0/October 12.
