The story of Troy first appeared in myths and legends. According to the description in Greek mythology, Trojans refer to those ancient citizens who lived in ancient Troas (located in Asia Minor). Although the place is located in Asia, in legend, Troy is regarded as a part of the Greek city-state and has a society similar to Greek culture. In legend, Troy is famous for its huge wealth, clothing and textiles, steel production and huge defensive wall obtained from the port trade between East and West.
The ancestor of the Trojan royal family was Danos. In Greek mythology, he was the son of Zeus and Electra (the daughter of Titan Atlas). According to legend, Dale Danos met Tukros on Samothrace Island (located in the northern Aegean Sea) and came to Asia Minor with him. The colonist who came here from Attica in southern Greece later married his daughter to Dale Danos, and Dale Danos later established a kingdom called Dale Dagner (later ruled by Aeneas), which was the predecessor of Troy.
After Danos's death, his grandson Troya called this people "Trojans", and the kingdom of Dagna was renamed Troya. Arrived at Elos, the son of Tellas, and established the legendary Troy. In the process of building this city, it is said that Zeus gave Troy a patron saint. In memory of his father, Elos decided to name the city Troy. After Elos died, his son Laomedon succeeded to the throne. It is said that Apollo and Poseidon built defensive walls and fortresses for Elos, but laomedon refused to return them. So Poseidon caused a flood to flood Troy and threatened to take Princess Hesione as a sea monster sacrifice. Later, the plague spread and a large number of Trojans were killed.
Shortly before the Trojan War, Hercules, known as "Hercules", captured Troy, killed laomedon and his son, leaving only his youngest son Priam. Later, he succeeded to the throne and became the last king of Troy. From about 1 193 BC to 1 183 BC, the Greeks of Mycenae civilization launched the Trojan War and captured Troy again. Later, according to Herodotus, there was a tribe in western Libya who claimed to be the descendant of the Trojan who crossed the ocean. After the Trojan War, Troy's influence in Asia Minor quickly disappeared, and it was replaced by a new Lydian dynasty, which was later conquered by the Persian Achaemenid Empire. In A.D. 187 1 year, the German archaeologist heinrich schliemann discovered the Trojan site, and later more urban sites of different periods were discovered in the same site. Among them, the site named "Troy VII" by archaeologists is considered as the Trojan City in Homer's epic period, but it is still controversial. According to archaeological research, the city was destroyed in the 3rd century BC/KLOC-0.
The Trojan War is often mentioned in Greek mythology. The whole story is centered on Homer's Iliad, plus Sophocles' tragedies Ajax and philoctetes. Euripides's tragedies Iphigenia in oris, andromache, Hector cobber, Virgil's epic Aeneas and Ovid's long poems.
