When I went to Ruzhou, I passed through Jiujiang and visited Lushan Mountain with my friends. The magnificent landscape triggered a vigorous and magnificent idea, so I wrote several poems about Lushan Mountain. The title Xilin Wall is a summary after visiting Lushan Mountain.

Topic Xilin wall

Song Dynasty: Su Shi

Looking at Lushan Mountain from the front and side of peaks and valleys, from far, near, high and low places, Lushan Mountain presents various faces.

I can't recognize the true face of Lushan Mountain because I am there.

Explanation:

Seen from the front and side, Lushan Mountain is undulating and peaks stand tall. Seen from afar, near, high and low, Lushan Mountain presents various appearances.

The reason why I can't recognize the true face of Lushan Mountain is because I am in Lushan Mountain.

Extended data

The first two sentences describe the different morphological changes of Lushan Mountain. Lushan Mountain runs through the mountains and rivers, and the mountains are lush and endless; On the edge, the peaks rise and fall, and the strange peaks rise one after another, rising into the clouds. Looking at Lushan Mountain from different directions in the distance and nearby, the mountain colors and momentum you see are different. The last two sentences are the author's deep thoughts: the reason why we look at Lushan Mountain from different directions will have different impressions because we are "on this mountain".

The reason why we can't recognize the true face of Lushan Mountain is because we are in the middle of Lushan Mountain and our vision is limited by the peaks and valleys of Lushan Mountain. What we see is only one peak, one ridge, one hill and one valley, which is only partial and inevitably one-sided. These two sentences are wonderful, and the whole artistic conception is fully displayed, which provides readers with a space to recall experiences and gallop their imagination.

It's not just a tour to have this rational understanding. This is what you see when you visit the mountains, and it is often the same when you observe things in the world. These two poems are rich in connotation and enlighten people to understand a philosophy of being human-because people are in different positions and have different starting points, their understanding of objective things is inevitably one-sided; To understand the truth and the whole picture, we must go beyond the narrow scope and get rid of subjective prejudice.

Su Shi has no habit of carving when writing poems. What the poet pursues is to express a fresh and unprecedented artistic conception in simple and fluent language; And this artistic conception, from time to time flashing the light of philosophy. Judging from this poem, the language expression is concise, but the connotation is rich. In other words, poetic language itself is a high degree of unity of image and logic.

Su Shi's views on society and thoughts on life are undisguised in his literary works, among which poetry is the most hearty. In more than 2,700 Su poems, the theme of intervening in social reality and thinking about life is very prominent. Su Shi's attitude towards various unreasonable phenomena in social reality is "out of date", and he always regards criticizing reality as an important theme of his poems.
