spring goeth all in white
robert bridges The goddess of spring in plain clothes
Robert Bridges
spring goeth all in white,
crowned with milk-white may;
in fleecy flocks of light,
o'er heaven the white clouds stray;
white butterflies in the air;
white daisies prank the ground;
the cherry and hoary pear,
scatter their snow around.
The goddess of spring is dressed in plain clothes,
The hawthorn corolla is milky white;
A group of sheep are clearly visible in the sky,
White clouds are coming and going;
White butterflies dance in the air;
Chrysanthemums decorate the countryside;
Chrysanthemums and pear trees are in full bloom,
There are no flowers everywhere like snowflakes.
