What cultural classics did Confucius collect?
Confucius was a cultural celebrity living in the late Spring and Autumn Period. Confucius founded private schools in history. "Seventy people are proficient in six arts" (Historical Records Confucius Family). In order to compile teaching materials, Confucius collected and sorted out the existing cultural classics at that time, "deleting poetry books, setting rituals and music, revising the spring and autumn period and changing the order". As a collection of poems, the poems, books, changes and the Spring and Autumn Annals in the Six Classics appeared before Confucius, and most of them were written in the Western Zhou Dynasty, reflecting the social life of the Western Zhou Dynasty. When Mozi saw the poem, he said, "Three hundred poems are recited, three hundred poems are strung, three hundred poems are sung and three hundred poems are danced." (Mozi Meng Gong) In The Analects of Confucius, Confucius often mentioned "Poem 300", thinking that "the names of birds, animals and plants are well known" (The Analects of Yang Sheng). Most of the contents of Shangshu were also formed before Confucius, and Confucius' collation of Shangshu was "Introduction to Books, from Tang Yu to Qin Miao" (Historical Records Confucius Family). The content of the Book of Changes is also very old. It is said that the classic part was produced before the Spring and Autumn Period, and the biography part was written by Confucius. "Historical Records of Confucius" said: "Confucius liked the Yijing late, and recorded it in sequence, taught divination, said classical Chinese, read the Yijing and edited it by Wei." Spring and Autumn Annals is a compilation of historical books about Shizhou and vassal states. Although it describes the history of Lu, it involves the history of Zhou royal family and many vassal States at that time. Before Confucius, Zhou and the vassal States had history books, usually called the Spring and Autumn Annals. At the same time, Mozi has also seen the Spring and Autumn Periods of hundreds of countries, such as Zhou Chunqiu, Yan Chunqiu and Song Chunqiu (Mozi is a ghost). Han Da, a doctor from the State of Jin, treated Lu Chunqiu. "Mandarin in Today's Qi" says: "A sheep's tongue is swollen, so it is necessary to learn spring and autumn." Shen Shushi in "National Danger at the Beginning" suggested that the Prince should be "taught by the Spring and Autumn Period". As for "ceremony" and "music", Confucius also recorded it before. The Analects of Confucius records that Confucius compared the rites of Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, saying, "Yin gains but loses because of Xia rites; Zhou's gains and losses are thus known. "The Analects of Confucius recorded that Confucius compared Shun's Shao music with Zhou's Wu music and thought that Shao music was perfect and Wu music was not perfect.
