-(Tang) "Emperor King Chapter" is one of them.
Xi is undoubtedly a famous city.
The geography teacher pointed out the atlas. Xi 'an, the capital of Shaanxi Province, is a small red five-pointed star. It is the gateway of northwest provinces to southwest, central plains and east China, and the largest central city on the line from Longhai to Lan Xin, the longest railway trunk line in China. The teacher said that for the overall layout of the national economy, Xi 'an has an important strategic position of connecting the east and the west.
The history teacher told us that China has a long history. Historically, this city was abundant in the Western Zhou Dynasty, Chang 'an in the Western Han and Tang Dynasties, Daxing City in the Sui Dynasty, Fengyuan City in the Yuan Dynasty, and finally Xi 'an after the Ming Dynasty. With a history of more than 3,000 years of civilization development, Xi proudly ranks first among the six ancient capitals in China. Since the opening of the Silk Road, this place has become the center of oriental civilization, known as "Rome in the west and Chang 'an in the east".
This famous city has never lacked the language to evaluate or describe it. In the earliest poems describing the Imperial Capital in the Tang Dynasty, Li Shimin wrote down the geographical situation of the city in four words: "Qinchuan Brothers Village, Hangu Huangzhuang Residence": it was built on the rich land of Qinchuan in 800 miles, relying on the natural barrier of Hangu Pass. The couplet is rigorous in antithesis, with two adjectives "Xiong" and "Zhuang" as verbs in the middle, and its voice is loud and clear, which highlights the indestructibility of the city's "one person defends, ten thousand people cannot". The next four sentences describe the buildings in Chang 'an: "Qi Temple has been searched for thousands of times, and there are still hundreds of miles away from the palace. Even if it is connected to Korea, the flying scene is empty. " At the beginning, the picture was very close. I saw a magnificent palace rising up to several thousands of feet. The palace walls are solid and vast, with hundreds of them. Then spread out vertically and horizontally, the houses in the city are dense, and the continuous roof is endless, and it is connected with the sky from a distance. The palace gate pavilion stands on it, with flying eaves-it's completely real. The exaggeration of "connecting Han from a distance" and "sweeping away emptiness" is very vivid, but the momentum is heroic and broad.
Emperor Taizong's line of sight from near to far, through the Qi Hall out of the palace, overlooking the entire Chang 'an City, the winner's commanding line of sight is broad and grand, without any obstacles. From high altitude, far away from the sky, realistic sketches turn to the dynamics of themselves and the people around them. "Clouds cover the sun and the wind and smoke are sparse." Emperor Taizong and his courtiers, like clouds, arranged government affairs in this dotted palace and devoted themselves to building a prosperous Tang Dynasty. The court's decision-making decrees, the complexity of state affairs and the vagaries of political situation all come from those gorgeous windows.
As the supreme ruler of the Tang Dynasty Empire, Li Shimin not only described the grandeur of this truly international metropolis with the largest scale and the largest population in the world at that time, but also presented the political situation in which politicians and officials lived in harmony in the early years of Zhenguan and devoted themselves to the stable development of society. With a distant perspective, broad mind and high self-confidence, it has opened up a new style of writing that is moderate and elegant, and an inclusive cultural and ecological environment has become a resounding prelude to the prosperous Tang Dynasty. Since then, the magnificent style of the four foreign guests' clothes is a deep continuation of the internal exchange and integration of the Greater China cultural circle, and it is also the root and blossom of foreign culture in Kyushu.
The imperial capital Chang 'an is like a colorful silk thread. The outstanding achievements of the Tang Dynasty in singing, dancing, calligraphy and painting, religious science and technology are connected in series in textbooks and handouts handed down by teachers, from my primary and secondary schools to universities and graduate schools. Later, in my own textbooks and handouts, I walked into the university classroom on this side of the Pacific Ocean from the far northwest of China.
Introduction to China Culture is one of the basic courses for undergraduates. The first chapter, "China's Traditional Thought", talks about the spread path of Buddhism in the Han Dynasty and its integration with China culture, which inevitably involves Chang 'an and Tang Dou, where thousands of people came to Korea, and the inclusive culture of the Tang Dynasty. In the chapter "Ancient Buildings in China", we can't get around the Big Wild Goose Pagoda of Ci 'en Temple, a representative building of Han Buddhism, or the Baqiao Bridge built by Qin Mugong, the oldest stone pillar pier bridge in China's architectural history. In the chapter "China Classical Literature", it is said that Tang poetry is profound and varied, and it cannot be separated from Chang 'an; Representative plays of Yuan Zaju, such as Wu Tongyu, Going to the Wall at once and Ghost Stories, are also inseparable from Chang 'an. In The Journey to the West, a novel in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Tang Xuanzang traveled tens of thousands of miles to the west. After eighty-one rare scriptures, he still returned to Chang 'an and translated Brahma Buddhist scriptures under the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, "not abandoning an inch of land". Of course, in the chapter "Cultural Relics in China", students are surprised by the Terracotta Warriors and Horses in the Mausoleum of Qin Shihuang, which they know from middle school textbooks. It is a set of special stamps issued by the US National Postal Service, which is a miracle of the ancient capital "Xi 'an" and is synonymous with ancient China. ……
Such a long history and rich human resources can easily become a floating charm in my students' hearts, attracting them to fly to Xi during the holidays. Although they just browse and taste at will, they also bring back a lot of bits and pieces about the style of this famous city: on the streets of Xi 'an, cleaners are practicing calligraphy! We got lost in Xi 'an, and the bus driver sent us back to the hotel without collecting money! Jiaozi in Xi 'an, there are so many shapes and colors, but I can't remember the name! ..... Their observation angles and interests are not exactly the same as mine, which gives me the feeling that the background color of Xi 'an is simple and heavy, adding a touch of gorgeous vitality from history to reality.
When these students returned to the United States one after another, Chang 'an in the past, Tang Dou, Xi today and everything related to it became the "China story" they described with exclamation marks, which spread among relatives and friends and students who had never been to China.
Before the new semester officially started, the number of applicants for the course "China Culture Summary" was already full. In front of the three-foot platform, the course content was expounded from the beginning, so Huo Qubing's reputation as "a meteor with white feathers stuck in his waist and a sword with autumn lotus coming out" and Bai Juyi's pride in the spring breeze as "the Wild Goose Pagoda is in the south of the city and the smallest among twenty people"; The willow color that hurts people every year by Baqiao Bridge and the fragrance of shining golden everywhere under the city wall; Yan's handwriting and the portrait of Wu Daozi's extremely natural brushwork ... The cloud of China's traditional culture looms between the Chang 'an Building built with square characters, "far from Han"; Wandering in the long river of China's history and reality, I talked with my students, swaying in the exotic sky outside the window like the wind.
