Bing Xin, formerly known as Xie Wanying, is a poet, children's literature writer and translator from Changle, Fujian. The pen name is taken from A Piece of Ice in the Jade Pot.
Masterpiece: The Spring and the Stars, a collection of essays and poems for young readers, is famous in the history of literature and has nurtured several generations of teenagers. The Stars is Bing Xin's first collection of poems, which was written under the influence of the Indian poet Tagore's Birds, praising maternal love, childlike innocence and nature.
