Laozi said: "Good is like water", "Water is the good of all things and the evil of all, so it is only a matter of Tao". What I'm actually talking about here is the way to be a man, that is, to be a man like water, which nourishes everything, but never competes with everything, so this character is the closest to the Tao. Although on the whole, Laozi's philosophy of life is passive and inaction, if we remove its negative components and carefully taste the nature of water,
One said to be clumsy.
Water is the source of all things, and its achievements deserve Qian Qian's praise and commemoration. Showing off the capital is not thick. However, it has always maintained a normal mentality, not only not making public, but "sharing its light and dust", where it flows low, where it gathers more, and even the deeper it is, the quieter it is. This kind of serenity and optimism is beyond the reach of many people.
Second, Qi Xin.
Water is extremely cohesive. Once integrated, honor and disgrace and * * * depend on each other, and life and death depend on each other, and they will move forward in the same direction without hesitation. Therefore, Li Bai has a sigh of "but since the water is still flowing, although we cut it with a sword." Because of the unity of water, the power of water is extremely powerful: it gathers into rivers and seas, sweeping today and washing the past; Riding the wind and waves, it is vigorous and crystal clear.
The third is perseverance.
Water is soft, but as soft as a bone, and the persistent pursuit of faith is awe-inspiring. The Jiuqu Yellow River is somewhat blocked, which is a bit tempting. Even though Qian Shan is full of water and Qian Shan is full of water, the will to enter the sea eastward has never wavered, and the heroic steps have never stopped; The waves hit the reef plate, and even if they are smashed into pieces, they will never retreat. Wave after wave, wave after wave, fighting bravely, and finally hitting the reef with holes; The cliff drips water day after day, year after year, sticks to the goal, is not arrogant and impetuous, and "ticks" and "ticks" thousands of times, just cutting a hole in the rock, which can really be described as "the softest and strongest in the world".
The fourth is broad.
"All rivers run into the sea, with the greatest tolerance". Water is the most loving, tolerant, penetrating and friendly. It is accessible and widely beneficial to the world, providing without seeking return. It nurtures mountains and rivers, nurtures beautiful flowers and crops, and never makes a fuss about being poor or loves being rich. Its combination with the land is a part of the land, and its combination with life is a part of life, but it never shows itself.
The fifth is flexibility.
Water is unconstrained, rigid, rigid and paranoid, sometimes delicate, sometimes rough, sometimes charming, sometimes unrestrained. It changes from time to time, with dew at night, fog in the morning, sunny and auspicious, cloudy clothes, rainy days in summer and heavy snow in winter, and life condenses into ice. It changes with the situation, soothing like a stream, singing softly; As steep as a waterfall, tigers roar and dragons sing; As deep as a pool of water, keep a low profile; Vastness is the sea, which leaps forward with great victory. It changes with the instrument, and it is round when it meets the circle, square when it meets the square, straight as a carved line and curved like a dragon, so it is called "impermanence of water". Water moves by machine, is born by machine, and advances by machine, so it has infinite vitality.
The sixth is transparency.
Although there are muddy water, sewage, turbid water and even smelly water, those that pollute and stink are not water, and the water itself is clear and transparent. It is colorless and transparent. It is aboveboard, without desire or desire, upright and upright. Only when water is transparent can it serve as a mirror to reflect the good, the evil, the beauty and the ugliness. It would be great if people cultivate a transparent and peaceful mind.
Seven is fair.
Water is neither rich nor poor. Whether it is placed in a porcelain bowl or a gold bowl, it is equal and is called "Ping". If you are pitted, the water will roar, which is "uneven". Take water as a ruler, you can cut it high.
Of course, the above is only a part of water's excellent character, but it is not all. However, no matter how much water is worth learning, the most fundamental thing is to "benefit everything without arguing", which is the real "goodness".
"Virtue is good for things" is a sentence in Yi Zhuan, the original text is: "The terrain is vast, and a gentleman carries things with virtue."
As for being generous to things, what is "virtue" is actually very simple. Helping others ask for something in return is called a transaction. Helping others without expecting anything in return is called "virtue". If many people get your help and you don't ask for anything in return, your virtue will be thick and you can be called respected.
Besides, if goodness is water, it is best, and the best way to live is water. What is water like? Water is beneficial to everything, that is, water brings benefits to everything. Without competition, competition means competition for interests, so water is good for everything, that is, helping others without asking for anything in return.
But I don't think that's enough. I went on to say that people are evil. There is a saying that people go up and water flows down. What is human evil? Very low. So what everyone hates is low, that is, modesty and prudence. So you should not only help others without asking for anything in return, but also keep a modest and prudent attitude. Don't think that people are arrogant because they owe you. If you can do this, you will be "a little ignorant of Tao", that is, you will get a lifestyle close to Tao.
