His first collection of poems, Singing Beijing (195 1) and his second collection of poems, Going Far (1955), contain lyric poems written in the early 1950s, some of which express the ideals and passions of the younger generation, but also have personal characteristics, which won him the initial reputation of readers. He was an influential young poet in 1950s, and later turned to prose and essays. But soon, because his poems and essays touched on some unjust and anti-democratic social phenomena, they were criticized and struggled. Until 1978, he was deprived of the right to publish his works for 20 years. During this period, the spring of 1962 showed some signs of thawing, and he was able to write a script, publish several poems and a novel; This autumn, this novel about the love between parents and children, which does not involve class struggle, was publicly attacked. He regained his political reputation at the beginning of 1979. From 1980 to 1986, eight kinds of poems and anthologies were published, including historical love songs, faraway places, blooming flowers, late flowers and Shao Yanxiang's lyric poems, as well as poetry criticism collections, poems for an 18-year-old poet, essays in the dawn and essays. Since 1980 and other essays were published, there have been a large number of essays criticizing various social ills. At present, he is a director of Chinese Writers Association, a member of the presidium and a member of China Pen Club Center.
