The pond is covered with green grass, and the water in the pond almost overflows the bank. Castle peak in the distance, with scarlet sunset glow in its mouth, reflects the shadow in the water together, shining with waves. Village Night is a seven-character quatrain written by Lei Zhen, a poet in the Southern Song Dynasty.

About the author: Lei Zhen is unknown all his life. Or that Meizhou (now Meishan, Sichuan) is a scholar in Jiading, Song Ningzong.
