I have always advocated strict requirements for the leadership of the poetry department, for various institutions of poetry, for the theoretical circle of poetry, and for the authors of poetry. At present, China's poems are weak in basic theory, so we can't ask people to study the theory before writing poems.
But things can't go the other way. Some people stop at the same time when they make achievements in writing poems, don't listen to different opinions, don't study, and don't improve their interest. I don't think this is a good idea. It is not good for you to think like this and do so, because great poets can't be born like this.
As for the theoretical circle, there are also many people who are congenitally deficient in the current situation. For example, some people don't write poems, especially China's classical poems, or teach foreign literature, especially foreign poems, and don't know a foreign language. Although it is often caused by objective environment, they should also be aware of their own shortcomings. There are also some people who write poems, lacking the theoretical literacy of poetry, and start writing papers, so they need to pay attention to make up lessons.
In the field of new poetry, "the theory of learning uselessness" is still very popular. Promising China poets should not be bound by this theory. At the end of these essays, I want to put forward a sincere hope that everyone should strengthen their study-including myself.
