Quiet and far-reaching significance

"Quiet and far-reaching, indifferent to the bright future" comes from Zhuge Liang's "The knot": "A gentleman's trip: quiet to cultivate one's morality, frugal to cultivate one's morality. Not cold, not awake, not quiet, not far away. A husband must be quiet before he learns. If you don't learn, you can't learn widely, and if you don't stay still, you can't succeed. You can't study hard if you are slow, and you can't be rational if you are in danger. Time keeps pace with the times, meaning keeps pace with the day, and then it becomes withered and out of touch with the world. What will happen if you are sad to guard the poor? " This is what Zhuge Liang told his son how to study in a letter. This Ten Commandments also fully expresses his Confucian cultivation. Therefore, future generations did not jump out of Zhuge Liang's palm when they talked about the principle of self-cultivation and self-cultivation. He taught his son to study with "quietness" and cultivate himself with "frugality", which is not to save money; Keep your body and mind simple and clear, and everything is clean and tidy. This is the word "frugality". "Non-indifference without ambition" means self-cultivation; "There is no smoke without fire" means self-cultivation and scholarship; "You have to be quiet before you can learn." Is the truth of learning; Only with a peaceful mind can you learn, and you can get self-cultivation through learning. You are talented but have no academic achievements. We also said in Confucius Thought that the argument of "learning without thinking, thinking without learning" is the same as "only learning". "If you don't learn, you won't learn widely." Even if you are a genius, you are not a great genius without studying. Therefore, there are geniuses and extensive knowledge. Where does learning come from? If you study, "you can't learn unless you are quiet." A coherent hierarchy, continuous opposing sentences. "Slow, you can't study hard", and "slow" is also the word "arrogance" of "pride". Speaking of the word "arrogance", it is very interesting. We in China are cultured and not proud at all. Moreover, the word "pride" is used separately: it is pride to think that you are great without content, it is pride to look down on people with content, and it is also pride to use it together in the future. And the cultivation of China culture, no matter how much knowledge and authority, will fail if you are proud. In the Analects of Confucius, Confucius mentioned that "with the beauty of Zhou Gong's talents, he is arrogant and stingy, and the rest is insufficient." Even if a person has the talent and achievements of Duke Zhou, if he is proud and stingy and doesn't love others, this person is out of the question. Look at Zhuge Liang's Book of Commandments, and I like his life style. Everything is simple and clear. This truth is used in politics, which is what Confucius called "Jane"; Keeping fit is what this article calls "frugality". However, the cultivation of literature is only a vassal, so we should pay special attention to it in our study.
