Where is Gongga Mountain?
Gongga Mountain is located in Kangding, Ganzi Prefecture, China. The main peak of Gongga Mountain is composed of granodiorite, which is influenced by the ocean monsoon and forms a variety of vegetation and natural ecological environment. There are two sister canyons winding in the mountains: Yanzigou and Hailuogou, among which Yanzigou is also called the Oriental Alps. The snow line of Gongga Mountain is 4600~4700 meters above sea level, and the glacier development scale is relatively large. Hailuogou Glacier is the largest glacier in Dongpo, with a length of 14.2km and a tip of 2850m, which has fallen into the forest belt. Under the action of long-term glaciers, the peak has developed into a cone-shaped tinder, surrounded by cliffs of 60 ~ 70 degrees, which is difficult to climb. Gongga Mountain Scenic Area is located on the eastern edge of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, in the middle of the Great Snow Mountain in Hengduan Mountain System, between Dadu River and Yalong River. Gongga Mountain, which means snow and white in Tibetan, means "white iceberg" and also means "the highest snow mountain". This mountain is about 60 kilometers long from north to south and 30 kilometers wide from east to west.
