For example, China is a country of poetry. Since ancient times, countless great poets have emerged in China: Qu Yuan, Li Bai, Du Fu and Bai Ju ... These resounding names have long been deeply engraved on the historical monument of poetry. Their works have been told by later generations through the ages. My favorite is Yu Qian's Poem of Lime.
This poem was written by Yu Qian, a famous minister and national hero in Ming Dynasty. The full text of the poem is like this: chisel out a deep mountain with a thousand hammers, and burn it with fire without fear of breaking bone powder, and leave your innocence in the world. The first sentence, "It's not easy to dig limestone". The second sentence, "If the fire burns, it will be idle", which makes people feel that it is not just about burning limestone, but also symbolizes that people with lofty ideals will take their time and regard it as idle no matter what severe test they face. The third sentence "not afraid of broken bones and powder" vividly describes the process of burning limestone into lime, and "not afraid" implies the spirit of not afraid of sacrifice. And the last sentence "keep innocent in the world" is the author's sincere emotion and determination to be an innocent person.
This poem is a poem that expresses one's feelings by borrowing things. Every sentence is about lime, in fact, every sentence is about people. The first two sentences are about the characteristics of lime, and the words "if you are idle" express the author's fearless spirit in the face of difficulties. The last sentence shows the noble character of Shan Xin's glorious history. With these crosses, the author profoundly embodies the noble quality of loyalty to the country and sets an example for people.
When I first read this poem, my heart was full of blood, and I was deeply attracted by this heroism. When the words "tempered", "burning eyebrows is too easy" and "broken bones" came into my eyes, what I felt inside was fearless spirit and heroism.
As a minister of the Ming Dynasty, the author Yu Qian set an example, serving the country faithfully and being innocent. He compared himself to this atmospheric quatrain of seven words, with clear and profound language and immortal people and poems. This poem just expresses that a person should be as firm and unyielding as lime, even if he is "smashed" and "burned", he is fearless, just to leave innocence on earth. This is also an overrated quality worth learning from each of us: to be innocent.
This is one of my favorite poems, the lyrics of lime.
