He has contributed extraordinary talent to contemporary Chinese poetry, which is particularly brilliant in his poems that present the life experience of Jiangnan water towns. He is recognized as the "Jiangnan King" in the Chinese poetry circle and is known as "the only remaining highland of the beauty of modern Chinese." He is the author of poetry collections "Fifty Poems", "The Girl in the Sui Dynasty Sarcophagus", "Selected Poems of Pan Wei", etc. Now living in Hangzhou, he is a producer of a film and television company. In 2010, he officially joined the Chinese Writers Association.
