But he has no prominent family background and is not a noble, so he has never been a big official or anything in his life. In addition, the king of Chu at that time was a fatuous man, who could not distinguish faithfulness and treachery, listened to the slanders of villains and always did stupid things. When the villain is in power, Song Yu naturally cannot be reused by the king of Chu. At this time, Chu was in danger, but Song Yu was helpless in the face of Qin's eyes.
His official career was frustrated and he was not valued by the monarch, but Song Yu still cherished a loyal and patriotic heart and hoped that he could serve the country. So he spent a lot of effort on the creation of ci and fu, exhorting the king of Chu with his works, making him understand that Chu is facing a crisis. His works reflect the real society and let the king know the sufferings of the people, but it didn't work after all, and it didn't help.
Song Yu left a large number of excellent ci and fu works. According to the Records of Hanshu Yiwenzhi, he left a total of 16 works, among which Nine Arguments Evocation, Goddess Fu, Disciple Fu | ZSZSZSZ Fu and other works. His ci and fu works are very important. He skillfully linked Chu Ci with Han Fu, which played a role in connecting the past with the future. Song is regarded as the originator of Fu literature.
