far off in Fuzhou she is watching the moonlight, watching it alone from the window of her chamber.
for our boy and girl, poor little babes, are too young to know where the Capital is.
her cloudy hair is sweet with mist, her jade-white shoulder is cold in the moon.
when shall we lie again on our screen, watching this bright light with no more tears?.

looking at the moon and thinking of one far away. This is a familiar topic in classical poetry. In the heyday of Du Fu's life in the Tang Dynasty, classical poetry was in the stage of great development, but themes such as hurting the scenery and thinking about relatives and friends have already been sung by countless authors, so it is not easy to create new ideas. This five laws, however, has lost its usual content and composition skills, and has become a unique masterpiece in similar works.
it should be admitted that the reason why this poem is so touching is that it expresses the poet's sincere parting in a specific historical environment. Looking back at the poet's life, we can know that Du Fu moved from Fengxian to Baishui, north of Tongguan, in May of the 15th year of Tianbao (756). In June, the Anshi rebels broke Tongguan and Xuanzong went to Shu, so Du Fu had to travel north with his family and stay in Zhangzhou. In July, Su Zong Li Heng acceded to the throne as Lingwu, and Du Fu went to defect alone, but was taken captive to Chang 'an by rebels on the way. This poem was written by Du Fu in Chang 'an in August. Without that earth-shattering disaster, there would be no tragic experience of the poet's family separation and desperate situation. Without this special experience, it is inconceivable to produce the sad and touching feelings in the poem. The important value of this poem lies in the fact that it reflects typical emotions in a typical environment.
However, what makes this poem stand out among many works that express the feelings of separation in troubled times is undoubtedly the novel angle and writing style of the author's ingenuity. Here, Lao Du doesn't generally describe things in terms of scenery and fate, but he is ingenious in writing from the side of missing the object and carefully describing the situation of the other party in his imagination from beginning to end. Infinite affection and infatuation have all poured out from this series of imaginary descriptions, reaching the extreme of lyricism. In the first sentence, I never say that I miss my wife when I look at the moon, but that my wife thinks about herself when I see the moon. Compared with the general works of remembering my feelings, the meaning at the beginning is deeper. Predecessors have written such famous sentences as "The Moon is shining every thousand miles away" (Xie Zhuang's Yuefu) and "The End of the World is at this moment" (Zhang Jiuling's looking at the moon and thinking of one far away), both of which involve both "remembering" and "being remembered". Here, however, only the recalled party is mentioned, and the angle of expression is changed, which makes the meaning of the words more vivid. Wife's side is always followed by lovely little children. When a poet misses his wife on a moonlit night, he is bound to miss his children. However, Zhuan Lian didn't directly say that he looked at the moon and remembered his children, but said that his children looked at the moon with their mothers and imagined that their children were young. They still didn't understand the moon and missed their loving father in Chang 'an. If this is the case, how can it be! The poet's unforgettable memory of inner feelings has deepened in this painful imagination. Thirdly, the imagination is becoming more concrete. The scene of a virtual wife looking at the moon and having a husband for a long time on this night is the most beautiful lyric sentence in the whole poem. Wet and cold arms, looking at the moon for a long time and pregnant with people's delusion. The better the moonlight, the more painful it is, and you are unaware of the cold at night. This lady in the boudoir is so affectionate and persistent, isn't it worthy of our poet's deep thoughts? Wang Siyuan's Du Yi thinks that this couplet is "beautiful in words and sad in feelings". It is really to the point. At the end of the poem, the lyric hero's own image was put in, and the feelings were still settled with the pen of imagination. This is the hope that the longing for love will be fulfilled. One day, the couple will meet again, and both of them will be relieved of the bright moon and erase the traces of pain caused by the war. Here, we take care of the above articles very carefully, showing the poet's deep feelings, such as "double" bearing "independence", "photo" bearing "moon", and "dry tears" contrasting with each other's "watching alone", which really convey the poet's urgent mood of hating separation and looking forward to reunion.
