Prose describing the quality of wheat ears

Curved ears of wheat

The father asked his son to go to the field to see if the rice could be harvested. The son came back and said, "Dad, this year's harvest looks bad." When the father asked why, the son replied, "I saw that most of the ears of grain were bent, as if they were listless, and there would definitely be no harvest."

Father said, "Son, you should know that only the ears of wheat bent by heavy fruits will bend down and hang their heads, and some ears of wheat will hold their heads high because they are flat."

The same is true of being a man. Some people are cocky just because their stomachs are empty. People with real talent and practical learning are often modest and low-key, and deeply feel their lack of knowledge. A person with a noble heart will not be proud, because he knows that there are still many things to do to become a noble person.

The father's words in the story are thought-provoking, and the truth expounded in the story is even more thought-provoking: you should keep a low profile, whether you are "talented" or not, and whether you are "entitled".
