What is cultural self-confidence

Forget about cultural self-confidence, let's talk about some of my feelings.

Because of work, I used to go on business trips in other places, ranging from a few months to several months a year. At that time, I was alone all day and thought everything was strange. Although the locals can speak Mandarin, they all have a southern accent. In short, you can feel a sense of strangeness and loneliness anytime and anywhere. But as soon as I got home, I felt very comfortable. I have been thinking about this experience since then as a stranger. Gradually I realized the truth-cultural strangeness.

Then, as a northerner, after arriving in the south, I was in a strange environment. There are no familiar things, no channels for communication at any time, and it feels like my heart has been hanging. Later, I thought this was cultural strangeness. From this, I also thought of the truth that "villagers meet each other late": local culture is very important for people's spiritual belonging. After leaving home, the spirit of future generations felt uncertain. This feeling is completely intuitive.

Then return to "cultural self-confidence." When cultural self-confidence is used as a rational concept to educate people, it sounds like chicken soup, but it is true from my intuition. The influence of local culture on a person is very extensive and far-reaching. A person unconsciously regards local culture as a spiritual sustenance, which cannot be felt in the living environment of local culture, but will be realized once he leaves. When I left home for the south, I was at best unfamiliar with a subculture, not to mention those China people who emigrated overseas. This is why Chinatown is spread all over the world. After emigrating overseas, these Chinese could not completely break away from the root culture of China and had to experience the local culture of China. Therefore, cultural self-confidence is not for nothing, and it is really inseparable.

In my opinion, culture is a consistent cognitive style and lifestyle of a group, in which the cognitive style is centered on words.
