Tao Yuanming wrote three poems about chrysanthemums: "Drinking, Part 5", "Drinking, Part 4", and "He Guo Zhubu, Part 2".
Autumn chrysanthemums are beautiful, and the dew reveals their beauty. I have forgotten all my worries, and I have left behind my feelings in the world. Even though the cup is empty, the cup will fall over on its own. The flocks are moving every day, and the returning birds are singing in the forest. Xiao Ao Dongxuan, chatting about regaining this life.
Appreciation: This poem describes the leisurely contentment of chrysanthemum drinking, which actually contains deep sentimentality. Autumn is the season of chrysanthemums. In autumn when all the flowers have already withered, chrysanthemums are the only ones that are not afraid of the severe frost.
Charming and alone, showing a steadfast and noble character. But because of this, the author loves chrysanthemums very much. He writes about it many times in his poems, and often associates it with pine trees. For example, in "He Guo Zhubu": "The chrysanthemums bloom in the forest and shine, and the green pines crown the rock formations. With this pure and beautiful appearance, "Zhuo is a hero under the frost."
"The second path is deserted, but the pines and chrysanthemums still exist." Compared with the first line of the poem, "Autumn chrysanthemums have a beautiful color", it is also a reference to chrysanthemums. Praise with all your heart. The three characters "youjiose" are extremely simple, and the character "jia" is also dark and fragrant, but the chrysanthemum has the color of proud frost.
If you use other beautiful words, such as "Li", "Charming", "Brilliant", etc., it will be very vulgar. The predecessors said that Biju "washes away the tackiness of the past and present" (Li Gonghuan of the Song Dynasty cited Gen Zhai's words in "Annotations to Tao Yuanming Collection"), and it is not a false reputation.
Tao Yuanming's brief introduction:
Tao Yuanming (352 or 365-427), whose courtesy name was Yuanliang, also known as Qian, had the private nickname "Jingjie" and was known as Mr. Jingjie in the world. A native of Chaisang, Xunyang. A great poet and poet from the late Eastern Jin Dynasty to the early Southern Song Dynasty. He once served as Jiangzhou Jijiu, Jianwei Army Joiner, Zhenjun Joiner Army, and Pengze County Magistrate. His last official career was as Pengze County Magistrate. He abandoned his post more than eighty days ago.
Since then, he has retired to the countryside. He is China's first pastoral poet and is known as "the sect of reclusive poets in ancient and modern times". He has "The Collection of Tao Yuanming".
At the age of twenty, Yuanming began his career as an official to make a living. "Drinking" No. 10: "In the past, I traveled far away to the corner of the East China Sea. The road was long and winding, and wind and waves blocked my journey.
Who made this trip? It seemed that he was driven by hunger. He leaned over to camp and was full, A little will be enough. I'm afraid this is not a famous plan, so I will go back to my leisurely life." This is a reminiscence of his career as an official. At this stage, the details of the low-level officials he was forced to take by life are unknown.
After a short period of home life, at the age of twenty-nine, he served as the state's Jijiujiu (the specific responsibilities of this official position have yet to be determined). Soon he could not bear the official position and resigned and returned home. Soon, the state called him to be the chief registrar, but he resigned and continued to live at home.
In the second year of Long'an (398 AD), Yuanming joined Huan Xuanmu. At the beginning of the fourth year of Long'an (AD 400), he entered the capital as an envoy and returned home from the capital in May. He was blocked by strong winds in Guilin. There is a poem "In the fifth month of the year of Gengzi, he returned from the capital to block the wind and Guilin", expressing his feelings about returning home. The longing for the garden and the nostalgia for the old home.
