Lingzhu has tears from thousands of lines,
Waiting for the leisurely grass and the setting sun.
It is dark and desolate to be away from people,
I secretly envy the mandarin ducks.
It’s hard to express your heartache,
The wind cuts through your intestines.
There are gods, immortals, humans and ghosts in the world,
Love is short and hate is long.
This poem is the closing sentence of the ending of Zixuan in Sword and Fairy III. In the ending of Zixuan, Chonglou loses her magic power and becomes a human to save Zixuan. Zixuan herself also becomes a demon after transferring the inner elixir to Changqing. As a mortal, Changqing became an immortal, while Sedum left Nightshade (Xue Jian) ??to live alone. This ending is the ending that I admire most (not my favorite). All the protagonists are alone, and the beauty of tragedy is fully reflected. It can be called an ending that truly has the spirit of the sword. Commensurate with this, this poem is also full of a sense of desolation. In this word, the upper que is written as Zixuan and Chonglou, while the lower que is written as Zixuan and Changqing. The "Lingzhu" in the first sentence of the above sentence "Lingzhu has tears from Qianxing" refers to Zixuan, because the water Lingzhu is in Zixuan's body, so the writing is metonymic. "Zi" here means "of course". The water spirit pearl condenses the water spirit, and its owner Zixuan will shed a thousand lines of tears when she weeps. Of course, this is an exaggeration to describe Zixuan's inner sadness. In the second sentence, "Fragrant grass and setting sun", "Fragrant grass and setting sun" are originally beautiful scenery, but at this moment Zixuan is "taking it easy" to look at it. It can be seen that Zixuan has no intention to appreciate it at all. Everything in the world in her eyes may have lost its color. "Liren Passerby is dark and desolate" in "Liren Passerby is dark and desolate" refers to Chonglou. This title is derived from Zheng Chouyu's "Wrong": "My dada's horse hooves are beautiful mistakes. I am not a returnee, but a passerby..." And In the ending animation, Jingtian also calls Chonglou "a passer-by". Seeing such a scene in Chonglou, it makes sense to feel "dark and desolate". And the further inner activity is "stealing the mandarin duck". Chonglou is not a ruthless person, but his character prevents him from showing it off easily. The sentence in the ending, "It would be better not to see each other than not to see each other, and to be affectionate seems to be ruthless" condenses a lot of endless melancholy and a desolation that cannot be resolved. Why doesn't he want to stay with the one he loves? But he also understood that Zixuan only had Changqing in her heart and it was impossible to accept him.
The first two sentences of Xia Que, "It's hard to tell the heartbreak, but the wind cuts every inch of the intestines" bring the perspective back to Zixuan. These two sentences form a duality. The word "maimai" in the first sentence means eyes full of emotion, describing Zixuan's inner pain that no one can talk to, and can only be condensed into a pair of tender autumn water. The word "scissor" in the second sentence is very wonderful. The poem goes, "The spring breeze in February is like scissors." It was supposed to be cutting out the spring wind, but at this moment it seems to be cutting towards Zixuan's "inches of soft intestines." Such a description makes people feel empathetic and sad for Zixuan. The third sentence, "Gods, immortals, humans and ghosts are both in the vast distance" points out the relationship between Zixuan and Changqing: humans and immortals have different paths. Among them, "神仙" and "人鬼" are both compound words with partial meanings: "神仙" partially refers to "immortal", referring to Changqing; "人鬼" partially refers to "human", referring to Zixuan. This sentence means that it is impossible for Zixuan and Changqing to continue their relationship in this life. What does Zixuan think after knowing this? The last sentence tells us: "Love is short and hate is long." Zixuan painstakingly set up a trap to make Changqing meet her and fall in love with her. However, just a few years later, the two were on different paths and could not get together. The remaining days were left to the two of them to slowly savor the pain.
In the hearts of those who have experienced this kind of tragedy, how can we not lament that "life is long and hateful"?
