Fan Song Chengda
Bi Man Ling frost lies on soft sand,
For many years, I have eaten watermelons everywhere.
Light as water,
It's not Pu Tao alfalfa boasting.
Fan Chengda was a famous pastoral poet in the Southern Song Dynasty. Watermelon was very common in the Southern Song Dynasty. In addition, it is a very popular seasonal fruit and vegetable. As an idyllic poet, growing watermelons is probably one of Fan Chengda's hobbies. This poem describes the growing environment of watermelon, which is more suitable for sand. And judging from "eating watermelons everywhere", watermelons were indeed very, very common at that time. In spite of this, Fan Chengda thought highly of watermelon. Although it was big, it was as light as water, not as good as grapes and alfalfa.
2. Tongzhou Road Middle?
Wang Song Liangyuan
An Qiuyun is so jealous,
The poor desert walks with the fox.
The vines in the yellow part of watermelon are woven.
The jujube tree in the north is red, and the tree will be slaughtered.
The snow plug and the hammer are far away,
Frost camp blew the horn and worried about the lonely.
A few times, I sat under the vault,
It depends on the precocity of the wine.
Judging from the "autumn clouds and poor dates in the north" described in the poem, it is not the weather in the south. Tongzhou here is probably a close neighbor of Daxing, which is now Tongzhou in Beijing. After the demise of the Southern Song Dynasty, the author Wang Yuanliang came to Youzhou with the Empress Dowager as a court pianist and lived here for many years. On the way to Tongzhou, the author saw local specialties such as watermelon and red dates, which evoked his memories. Heavy snow covered the anvil. As a conquered people, I have been a guest in another country for several years. I am lonely and depressed, so I can only sit alone under the thatched cottage. Fortunately, I just brewed good wine to taste. Judging from the scenes such as "Watermelon Weaving with Yellow Cane" and "first frost Camp Blowing Corners and Solitary Guests", the watermelons here should be autumn watermelons and mature in the Mid-Autumn Festival, so they should be able to be in first frost in the north at that time.
